  1. Their 5.56 stuff is top-shelf, high quality. Damn good stuff. <thumbsup>
  2. Ina basic (very basic) sense, the Hogan was tha brainchild and creation of the POF, right? Stick to POF specs on that stuff, for reference. Honestly, man, I'd be calling Hogan about it, if it were mine, just to ask questions and gain knowledge on their platform. <thumbsup> You're honestly the first one here building the Hogan. ;D
  3. Yeah. No. You have a few "positions" to work on first. <thumbsup>
  4. Todd, NICE!!! Rob,... LMAO... <lmao> For me, it's Mopar or no-car... <laughs> <thumbsup>
  5. AAC Brakeout 51T mount:
  6. Something to think about...
  7. Hard to tell, honestly. Most manufacturers stick to a known set of dimensions (not like the TDP for an AR-15, though). The .308 ARs have a pretty common set of dimensions, despite the three different basic design styles (DPMS, Armalite, Rock River). The most common problems come up with the "custom parts." Biggest issue to date was with Iron Ridge uppers and lowers, even though there are small things one in awhile. Even though Wash just had an issue with a 6.8 barrel and a Mega monolithic set recently (which is a 5.56 AR-15 setup), it's usually not a problem, and a problem exists when the barrel won't fit in the upper. Tight fit is fine - that's routine, and actually desired. Too tight to fit is a problem, tolerance-stacking aside.
  8. It shouldn't be difficult to get the barrel in the upper. Standard parts, right? They'll go together fine. Freezing/heating is completely unnecessary.
  9. Makes perfect sense... <thumbsup>
  10. Did you pick one of those things up?! The only ones I've ridden were based off the Honda CRF450R - that thing is a handful in stock form, let alone when the front wheel is digging... :o
  11. That would be the AAC Brakeout for can attachment - let's you mount any AAC can that attaches via the 51-tooth ratchet mount. Got one on my Rem 700. Give me a few, and I'll get a pic uploaded.
  12. Why link the AR-10B stuff, when it's the AR-10A parts that are the difference? You confused me, man... <dontknow>
  13. Just run a straight edge - makes sure it's flat/flush along the whole length of the receiver. If the gas block is on the same plane, it'll be easy to see along the straight edge. If it's not the same plane, it'll be easy to see...
  14. Are you 100% certain that the gas block is the same height as the upper?
  15. They're beastly, and hard to control at times. Going up steep, rocky hills can be an adventure all it's own, and leave you on your ass... <lmao> Difficult to work on, with a bunch of extra poop in your way.
  16. This one?
  17. Happy Damn Birthday, brother. <thumbsup> :happydrunks:
  18. Very few combinations like that out there. AAC makes the Brakeout. Rainier Arms makes the XTC, but I don't think they make it for .308 ARs - only 5.56 guns. - They make it now for the 300BLK/6.8 SPC applications, but you should call for sure to see if it would fit the RR 308 barrel specs. http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=2315 I'd look at adding weight to the recoil system, to manage recoil. Couple ways to go about that.
  19. From the pics you added, it appears you have a DPMS rifle. Those charging handles clear the AR-10 PRS, in stock form.
  20. Talking about any PRS on a Rock River Arms .308 LAR-8 variant.
  21. Raise that cheekpiece up high enough, and the charging handle will hit the front of it. Your cheekpiece is probably low.
  22. Bring it - fire off those crazy, silly questions... <thumbsup> <laughs>
  23. Safe to dremel the front of the cheek riser right off. Common mod for LAR-8 owners. Use the AR-10 PRS over the AR-15 PRS, and you'll have less of an "ugly gap." <thumbsup>
  24. No way. "Any/any" is a tough combination. Armalite and DPMS use different threading, so there's an immediate incompatibility right off the bat. Alot of rail/handguard manufacturers use specific barrel nuts of their own design, also. Example, you're not getting Troy nut and mounting a DD Lite rail on there. <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  25. Lesson 65b, Rob - I see you in here, lurking... <laughs> gamaev, I'll have a money order drawn tomorrow for the $150 and shipping - I appreciate the chance at this. <thumbsup>
