A Small favor - Review your BAD A.S.S at Brownells

Exactly. Tolerance stacking can kick our collective asses at times. As a manufacturer, just for lowers, you might get in 100 raw forged lowers. You machine them into final finished form. Most of this is CNC now. What do you think those bits look like for Number 98, 99, and 100 out of that batch? Dulled, not cutting as smoothly or accurately, etc. That's how we sometimes get out of spec parts. -
RALPHIE!!! <laughs> <lmao>
-
When you email him, explain who you are, what you do, etc., with the specifics you need to, in order to get the point across - let him know who you are w/in constraints. He might send it off to you, with the agreement to send it back... <thumbsup>

Brother, get ahold of Clint at Fulton Armory, and see if he can help you out. He's forgotten more about M1 and M14 accurizing than most people will every be able to learn, in a lifetime. He probably already has the stuff you need, or he can make the stuff you need, or he can guide you to the other people that have what you need. Make that phonecall, man. <thumbsup> EDIT - Unless that's the info you already got from him... :o <laughs> If you did talk to him, and that's what he told you that you need - then that's what you need. I'd be buying $700-worth of tools to convert these barrels to (how many) Sage chassis, before I'd be buying (how many) Troy MCS Chassis @ $520 per. As soon as you get to two Troy Chassis setups, you've defeated the purpose, and the "rationale" in Govt spending - even who you work for, brother. <dontknow>

At 4:18/4:19, he uses the words "no acts of terror" - is THAT it?! :o
-
Someone just stepped on their dick, with golf cleats. Badly. I don't expect the bleeding to stop. Shitbag just stated that he called the Banghazi attack as "a terrorist attack" the very next day, in a speech in the Rose Garden. The debate moderator agreed that he said that. Here's the speech - did I MISS it, somehow?!

Having problems, here. I've been buying locally, at higher prices (prefer to do that normally). When the local prices are WAY higher than what I can get on the 'net, I try to go to the 'net. Online sources are tough to find now, with repeatability - there are some short supplies out there. I mostly reload .223/5.56, and I always sort that brass separate, and only use CCI primers. I've been grabbing whatever CCI 400s and CCI 41s that I can, and put those into the respective cases that I have. If I'm low on 400s at the time, I load 41s in the 5.56 instead. Vice versa. It's tough out there right now. I hope that changes soon. <thumbsup>

I got ahold of them, about the "Verified Reviewer" status, and this topic in specific. <thumbsup> -
Round TWO! Romney is right now kicking a desparate President's ass. Handing it to him. I love it. <thumbsup>
-
Halfway to Mexico, brother. Don't worry about the $10s - I'll spot you. Especially since I'm getting them all, anyway... <laughs> <lmao> You'll be shooting here: http://www.sierravistarange.org/ Yes, my friend is bring his LaRue with him. What he hasn't realized yet is that his OBR is zero'd at 271ft elevation, and he'll be shooting it at 4,600ft elevation... His scope is gonna be WAY off... ;D <munch>

Separate the upper and lower - does the bolt catch cycle smoothly? Nothing on it at all, no pressure from a mag, no pressure from a locked-back bolt - is it rough in it's mount in the lower?
-
Damn, that looks good. <thumbsup>
-
If I can turbo/nitrous the thing, then I'm in. :o
-
Jon, don't worry about it... If you can't get these bullets to mag length for a .308 semi, then just buy a 300BLK barrel and start re-necking 5.56 brass... <laughs> <thumbsup> Those heavies would work great from a 300BLK setup. ;D The most common long .308 AR projo is the 175gr BTHP. Some 180grainers will work, but not many.

Pappy, I checked my usual sources, and they're all out of stock. I thought for sure one of them would have them. Sorry, man. How many do you need?
-
Nice, man, nice! You can try out a UBR on one of my rifles, if you can make a shoot with us. I posted a "loose timeline" in the Hell Raisin' thread in GD. <thumbsup>

GOOD! <thumbsup> -
After I put the AAC Brakeout on the Rem 700, it had a pretty significant POI shift - about 4" left and 4" up. Re-zero'd it, and it's still dead-nuts accurate again. I saved that target somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.

I'm hoping some of the locals see this "calendar" and can figure out some time to get together. <thumbsup> That Saturday night during Helldorado, in Tombstone, followed by some Sunday shooting - that's pretty tempting for some of the local Tucson guys. ;D

I can't imagine the wheel bearing maintenance you'd have to do... :o I saw that thing a couple years ago, at one of the International Motorcycle Shows. It's a big heavy pig.

Mike, I hope you can make it down here. As far as talking to Greg and Rob, here's a tentative (very loose) plan: Friday, 19 Oct: Greg lands at the airport later in the day; Rob arrives via car sometime in the afternoon. Saturday, 20 Oct: Greg and Rob hit Helldorado Days in Tombstone all day. I work. I meet them in Tombstone after work. After that, the night turns ugly. ;D Sunday, 21 Oct: Flat range action, with steel at 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 525, 575. Plenty of action on the range, not just shooting steel. poop-talking will be IMMENSE. I will take everyone's $10 bills... <thumbsup> Monday, 22 Oct: Greg and Rob visit local caverns. I work. poop. Tuesday, 23 Oct: Rob leaves and heads up north. I'm NOT working that day, and Greg and I are gonna get in trouble. Shooting in a local open area, no range rules, no limits. More fun than a barrel of monkeys. The shot timer is gonna get a workout. Wednesday, 24 Oct: Rob is already gone, Greg and I miss him, but we're not gonna let that get us down. I'm off work again. We'll probably hit a good motorcycle ride. Thursday, 25 Oct: No plans. Greag with family. Rob still gone (he doesn't miss us enough at this point, to return. He will, though, soon enough... <lmao>). Friday, 26 Oct: Big Mike is shooting a Cowboy Action shoot, Greg attends, and I have a 1/2 day off - I'll be there. I predict that Rob will show back up at some point during day, and start registering in local schools, dropping job applications all over, and looking for property. My prediction... <thumbsup> That's as much as I know so far, and that's pretty flexible.

The o-ring goes around the extractor spring, and increases the force of the extractor. Most of the time, it's a cure for a worn out extractor spring, or a weak extractor spring. <thumbsup>
