  1. Drew, that's the 51T ratchet mount, right? Check my pockets if I ever come and visit you... <laughs>
  2. Shoulda been sealed by 200 rounds. Not a worry anyway. Looks like the carbon is coming directly from the split in the roll pin, which isn't abnormal. If it doesn't seal soon, replace the gas tube rollpin. If you need one, I've got about a hundred thousand of them... :o <thumbsup> Clean the stuff off the outside of the gas block, so you can see if anymore is building up during the next range session, or blowing by.
  3. I feel the exact same way, as do several members here. <thumbsup>
  4. I know, brother - I always toss one out there to the side for some reason... :o I'm so damn ADD it's not even funny. "Focus" is damn hard... <lmao>
  5. PRI SPR parts are SWEEEEEET!!! <thumbsup> You will love that stuff. (Get their forearm wrench...)
  6. If we can't get this to happen, in reality, then I'll PhotoShop it like it really happened... <thumbsup> <laughs> <lmao>
  7. Won't necessarily leak fouling out both sides. Depends on the roll pin, really. In a few more rounds, the carbon fouling will completely seal it, and it won't leak anymore. Nothing to worry about. How many total rounds through this build so far?
  8. Those NM fires have been so bad, that they affect us in SE AZ here. Smokey overcast from it all. We've had a few down here so far, but lickily nothing like last summer. This city almost disappeared last summer, and that poop was started south of the border... >:(
  9. Jgun, check with your state authorities closely. The state still might maintain that stance, but all that info changed when the ATF issued "ATF Ruling 2011-4." With that coming from the ATF, it declared that you CAN convert a pistol to a rifle, and back to a pistol again, as long as the weapon started it's life as a pistol in the first place. If your state is telling you that you can't go from pistol to rifle, I'd respectfully challenge the person/authority telling you this information, and present them with a copy of this document: http://www.atf.gov/regulations-rulings/rulings/atf-rulings/atf-ruling-2011-4.pdf
  10. I've been running this exact barrel since early 2010. It's a damn tack-driver. First put together: When I "finished" it, previously: And it's initial sight-in - that barrel gets it done, if you get it done: Once I finished it, for realz... <laughs> Shitcanned the A2 stock, and went with the A1 and Siera Precision adjustable buttplate.
  11. If loose receivers bother some of you guys, just stick an appropriate-sized o-ring around the front lug of the upper receiver. The area the pivot pin goes through. That'll tighten up the upper/lower receiver fit.
  12. ALL over the interwebz. <thumbsup> <munch> Digital imagery is mandatory for this one. ;D I think he might have to dress up in this, just to shoot it... Opinions?... <dontknow>
  13. Hehehe... My plan is working... <laughs> <lmao> :ecs:
  14. I hear ya - I think the whole "Heat Index" BS that's out now is so the people where it's KINDA hot, can try to relate to the people where it's REALLY hot... <lmao> Weather Newscaster: "Temps today will hit 99 degrees, with xx humidity, bringing the HEAT INDEX up to 106 degrees..." Go grab some REAL 106 degrees, or something another 10 degrees REALLY hotter, and tell me about your Heat Index... <laughs> <lmao> Pavement over 135 degrees. Ride a motorcycle. It's actually cooler when you STOP at a red light, because you're not moving through that living-oven... :o I have no mercy on the "Heat Index" people. None. I grew up on SE Ohio, so I do know about humidity. Basic Effin Training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Done some of the nastiest training on earth in Fort Benning, GA starting in July and August... Humidity don't have poop on the real "dry heat," once it's pretty far into the triple-digits... Just sayin'... Me thinks... :threadjack: :tweed:
  15. If I had those large Koi in the backyard, I don't think I could resist the temptation... ...to bow-fish the things. Just sayin'... <dontknow> :o Greg, it almost looks like you're setting up a backyard range, for my visit later in the year... Again, just sayin'... <laughs> <munch>
  16. Ogre. Part of Speech: noun Definition: nasty person Synonyms: demon, devil, fiend, giant, monster, monstrosity, specter, troll It fits. Like a glove. <thumbsup>
  17. Well, that shoots my theory right in the ass... <lmao> <dontknow> You can still slow that gas system down with a heavier buffer or the Tubb CWS. <thumbsup>
  18. Rob, every AR-anything that you shoot when you come out this fall has these installed. You even get a "special" one... <laughs> <thumbsup>
  19. Hell yeah, brother! <thumbsup>
  20. They have sets for the 5.56 metal mags - great addition to them, when combined with the MagPul followers. <thumbsup>
  21. Yep, what blue said. <thumbsup>
  22. Compatible with Accuracy International (AI) mags. I have a couple experiments in mind for this. <thumbsup>
  23. Hell yeah. Dry heat, my ass. What I tell other people, that give me that "dry heat" excuse about humidity... To get a feel for some "dry heat," turn your oven on to 200, wait 10 minutes, and stick your head in there - that's a "dry heat..." :o Few years ago, when I lived in Phoenix - this was in the shade, about 3pm in the afternoon, too... <thumbsup>
  24. Looks like the H&K P7 in there - is that the M8 or M13? That's a badass semi pistol. I had the M13 for a long time, and kick myself in the ass for not having it now. >:(
