I left this site a few months ago, basically because of differences between myself, and one single other individual. In reality, that person doesn't really know poop. I've argued my points, and the idiocy I received in return didn't even make sense. That person was clueless. Truly clueless. I have decided that I like the friends I've made here, and I'm not going to let that dipshit determine my course of action. I will be back here, I will be around the friends I've made, and I will help people with this weapons platform, in any way that I can. Don't even think about it, Matt.

So, this went down a few weeks ago. 26 and 27 May. Anybody heard how this course went, and how RayGun did with the .308 in this course? I've seen a few AARs from that specific course, from other individuals. Ain't heard from the guy since his fake ribbons came up, have we?... Hmmm... Just sayin'.

Jon, you are pure eeeevvviiiiilllllll... <laughs> I looked into those - the only real option for the .338LM semi. There is one other possible option for it, if they get it off the ground - looks damn nice, too. I'm leaning towards a bolt-gun for this caliber. Almost "pulled the trigger" last year, this time... Barrett 98B, had the deposit down. Tubb CWS, brother - make up for the weight difference. The three I have are all M16 FA carriers, and nothing lighter, but I've had those things for a year now. I didn't know they were making the SA versions nowadays. It's a very high quality BCG, at any rate. They didn't skimp on the materials or testing. Shoot the shat out of it with confidence. ;D <thumbsup>

I've been running 3 of these BCGs pretty hard over the last year or so. They're everything they're supposed to be, and fully "at" the mil-spec testing quality. They easily compare to any of my BCM BCGs. When they were first released, it was under the Denny's Guns section of GTS (Global Tactical). They were originally the "Denny's Guns Thunderbolt BCG." The Rainier Arms Thunderbolt BCG IS the Denny's Guns Thunderbolt BCG.

I'm going to weigh in on this one. I've received this response once before about the "copying" of MIL ID cards. That regulation is in refence to making fake ID cards, not photocopying ID cards. "Reproduction," with the intent of the Reg. Read that Reg closely, with that in mind. "Reproducing" ID cards, in the meaning of the Reg, is making fakes. That's the intention of the regulation. Photocopying an ID card, or NOT photocopying an ID card, is not the intent of the Reg. That aside, verification of military service is easy, really. If you're out now, you have a DD214. If you're in, first enlistment, whatever - basically, never been discharged "yet" - then you have AKO, if you're Army, and the equivalent in the other branches. If you're out, send a copy of your DD214 with SSN blacked out. If you're in, send an email from your AKO, or other-branch equivalent email. Your email will be going to another AKO account (if it's to ALELKS), so there's no worry of any kind of "compromise." I said that all along. IMHO, there is one certain Mod or Admin that does not need to be a part of the MIL/LEO section, in the least. He has fully demonstrated his lack of understanding of the military world and what it's all about, and he should have no access to that section whatsoever, despite where that section goes in the future. Most Mods and Admins know who I'm talking about, and I'm certain the person in question knows it, too. He definitely has no business there. IMHO, based on past actions, he shouldn't even be a Mod anymore. Solely on past actions. Use that for what it's worth. Tom. Out.

When traveling through NON-gun friendly states, it's best to call ahead to the local county Sheriff's departments, of the counties you'll be traveling through. I have traveled numerous times through New York-istan, transporting personal firearms. They are locked up just like I'd be flying them on a commercial airline, and "not readily accessible" to a driver or passenger. Several times, while route-planning, I've called ahead and coordinated to store my firearms in the Sheriff's department armory. Never been turned down once. Never been messed with once. Tell them what time you're showing up, what you're showing up with, and how long the firearms will be there, and you'd be surprised at how accomodating they will be. I had one county department tell me that my plan was a bad plan, and not to show up in their county with my firearms - I changed my route. Traveling across state lines with NFA firearms is a whole other ballgame. Research the ATF guidelines on that stuff, and do not deviate.

Yamaha Raptor 660 bottom end fitted with the 700 topend, bored and stroked to a 780. The twin turbos, wet shot nitrous setup, in a custom titanium chassis, Mikuni HSR48 carb taper bored to 52mm. Nothing but a sand hill shooter, for competition. Nitrous armed with a toggle switch, then actived at full throttle opening - anytime you went WOT, you got the shot! <laughs> We have no idea what it made for power on the bottle, because the graphs just looked like etch-a-sketch squigglies... <lmao> Just on turbo, it made a little less than a previous build, a single turbo with custom EFI going through twin throttle bodies. That one was 136hp to the drum, running on meth, and no nitrous.

hemi, you may not be far off, for the load - if it was WAY too fast, it wouldn't even lock back on the last, or only, round in the mag. It would be over running the bolt stop, and not lock back. It's hard to try to figure out what's going on, just based on a description of actions - weak rounds won't lock a BCG back, and over powered rounds will do the same thing, sometimes. There's always more to find out, and more to ask, but I think you found out the issue here. Did you have any popped primers or flattened primers, with your reloads though this particular gun? I'm sure they were fine in your gun, but what did they look like through this one, that's giving you trouble?

6132, here's a better example of what I was trying to describe about the MRF barrel nut - this one right here is made by Samson. The Samson pictured here has 6 wrench flats on it, while the MRF nut only has the two wrench flats. Not yours, man, not the TRX nut. The MRF nut has the wrench flats on it - that's the one I was describing. If you go back to your original post, you stated that Troy only sells the wrench for the TRX, and not one for the MRF - What I was explaining above is why they don't sell a wrench for the MRF - it doesn't take anything special, due to the design, and those wrench flats. <thumbsup> You could tighten the MRF nut with a pipe wrench. <laughs>

Have you contacted JD Machine yet, to see what their upper receiver threads are based off? It's either DPMS or Armalite. There are lots of rails out there for both types.

Was that 8 Reserve years, or 8 Active years? In AFSOC, specifically. Note for all other military and LEO members - we'll be going through some different verification standards here now, for the MIL/LEO access, than we've done in the past. I'll post those standards as soon as I can, and let everyone know. This has been in the works for awhile, and as soon as we solidify everything, I'll get the decision up here. Fear not. <thumbsup>

You just nailed it. Your reloads (at almost max load) were causing that BCG to travel way too fast. The BCG was over-running the next round in the mag, before the mag spring could lift it up. I'd bet you would find a big difference in the gas port sizes in both those barrels, if the barrels are constructed the same. The port size in that Delton needs to be bigger, if your reloads are what's going to be used. This gas port stuff is coming up alot, lately...
