  1. Missed that one - sorry. The Fulton bolt carrier is a DPMS carrier - getting it from Fulton gives you two things: 1) faster shipping to you, over what DPMS would give you, and 2) better customer service during and after the sale. I'm running one from Fulton in my rifle.
  2. Update on the Spike's .308 DynaComp: Fired it Wednesday at the local range. It's mounted on a 16" barreled .308 bolt gun - the Ruger Gunsite Scout. Now, this thing has a little kick to it. ;D Previously, with the stock muzzle device on there, while bench-type shooting (zeroing the red dot, checking the irons), it would kick off-target. I was shooting from a front shooting block, not touching the front of the rifle, and bracing my non-firing hand under the bottom back of the stock. With the muzzle rise, it would jump up, and completely off target - the front of the gun would physically come off the shooting block. With the DynaComp on there, I definitely noticed a difference in the recoil characteristics. It would pretty much keep the red dot close to the target sight picture - still some movement, but not nearly as much as before. Linear recoil felt somewhat better, somewhat less than before, but it still kicks - it's a 16" .308 bolt, so it's going to. Hell of a stock pad on the back of the stock, though - that's good. Overall, it just stays on target much better when you follow through after the shot. It's worth the money I spent on it (little over $80 from DSG Arms), and I'm glad I changed out the stock muzzle device and went with this one.
  3. Looks very good! <thumbsup>
  4. Sheeeeeit, man... have you seen the 12.5" Leonidas? THAT thing is sweet. <thumbsup> http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/NVU-125-762.aspx I've been lusting after that gun for a long, long time. Sorry for the instigation, Rene... <dontknow> <laughs>
  5. Can it work? Yep, sure can. Fulton offers two different 18"-ish barrels with rifle gas. The stainless Criterion barrel is 18.5", and I'm pretty sure the cromoly is 18.5" also. Both rifle gas. You might need to play with the gas port diameter a little, but it wouldn't be much, just going from 24" to 18". Hell, it might even run fine like it is. It's do-able, man. <thumbsup>
  6. I don't think that's the case here at all. The index pin in the barrel extension fits into a pretty tight groove in the upper. Unless that groove is damaged (widened), or the pin is damaged, even with a loose barrel nut that barrel won't rotate like the OP is saying. It just won't happen with a loose barrel nut. Now, a barrel extension that wasn't torqued properly when the barrel was built... that's another story, and it is probably what happened here. The actual barrel extension has the barrel index pin in it - that part is in the upper and the slot. If the extension is loose, the barrel can turn. With that barrel nut put on there at 35lb/ft, the barrel nut isn't loose.
  7. That carrier is so far from chrome-looking - do you have better pics of it, in a different light? That's black as all days in the pic of it that you posted. <dontknow>
  8. DSG's Noveske barrel in the 21" is out of stock right now: http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/NVB-21-762.aspx The complete Noveske 21" upper IS in stock: http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/NVU-21-762.aspx
  9. When you call, ask for Charlie. That guy knows more about their inventory than anyone else. He'll probably be the one that answers the phone, when you get through the menus, but if he isn't that one - ask for him. <thumbsup>
  10. What barrel extension does the JP enhanced bolt work with? What's it designed for? That's your answer. The answer isn't in what upper receiver you plan on running. You can put any barrel in the upper.
  11. I'm still avoiding the call for the PINK one... <dontknow> Plus MORE... :o
  12. Boxer primed. Non. Berdan primed. Usually.
  13. You're lucky - I need about 7 more, on top of the 6 that I already have. I've been avoiding Roger for a reason... <lmao> <laughs> <dontknow>
  14. 98Z5V

    Next.

It will be on this one - this is my 300BLK build. <thumbsup>

    Anniversary Gift

A Roto-Zip mounted right beside it would do it proud. You can tear poop up with a Roto-Zip. <thumbsup>
  16. I have no Barnes & Noble in my tiny-ass desert Mexico-border town... :tweed: Thankfully, Safeway rocks... :hethan:
  17. I'd watch the TITAN name - that one is the property of Fulton Armory. Just sayin'.
  18. Nowhere near done yet, brother. I'm just sayin'... <lmao> <laughs> You're just warmin' up... :o <munch>
  19. Yep, I like the PMC ammo. <thumbsup> I just haven't stumbled on the 62gr stuff yet locally, so that's why I was asking the questions. Regardless of whether it's in NATO cases or commercial cases, the 62gr would be a little more desireable than the standard 55gr stuff. I'll grab some of it, but I was wondering what I'd do with the brass once I shoot and sort it. I'll measure out the case capacity once I get some. Thanks for the info on it. <thumbsup>
  20. That is one awesome scope! <thumbsup> Played with that one a little, just at the store, and it made me want one pretty bad. I love the reticle in it.
  21. This is very worthy of being pinned... <thumbsup>
  22. If you pick up the Commercial-sized E-MOD, it'll go right on there. Don't buy the mil-spec-sized stock, it's not going to fit.
  23. Honestly, we (the membership here) have seen issues like this, and it's most often when you mix and match uppers and lowers. Since there's no standard to go from (like the AR-15s following the Colt TDP), different companies can do whatever they want as far as design and execution. Mix and match contributes greatly to the possibility that your stuff might have problems. This original IRA issue here is different - a big problem, denied mostly by them, and parts from the same manufacturer. A Tubb Carrier Weight System will solve your buffer-damage problem.
  24. The local Safeway grocery store, of all places around here... <dontknow>
  25. Return To Zero? Never heard that before, but I'm guessing that's the new made-up acronym. I've already tested that, and reported on it. Let the guy search out the information on it's RTO... <dontknow>
