  1. Here's a wild reference and update to this one. This one ends up going "solvent trap" but starts out talking about Rare Breed Triggers, the FRTs. This is a great video. BATFE over-reach.
  2. That vid interview was pretty powerful.
  3. Check it - I've stated this exact thing here for years, and I've stated the opposite of this here for years. Sounds confusing. I'll explain. Does the BATFE have ANY AUTHORITY to inspect ANY NON-NFA ITEM that you own? NO. THE BATFE'S PURVIEW IS NFA ITEMS. ONLY. Their purview is nothing more than that, ever, hasn't, never has been. Don't give consent. No search can happen. That's my one side. Now my other side. You're at the range, you have a legal Tax-Stamped Suppressor. Local PD show up and asks you if you have a Tax Stamp for that Suppressor... Not their purview. Lot their legal authority to even ask. Not the local Sheriff, not the head of State Police, just not their purview. It's BATFE's purview. ONLY. "Son, heard you firing that fully automatic firearm - you got a license for that? Local PD asking you. You - "I'm sorry, are you Local PD, or are you a BATFE Agent? -Oh, Local? You don't have the authority to determine that..." Yeah, it goes that way. However, if you were fucking up, acting stupid, caused some harm, etc... I.E. not doing what you were supposed to be doing as a responsible gun owner... then Local PD can detain you until BATFE Agents arrive. These guys are everywhere, too, BATFE - every single large city in every single state, has an office. You might be sitting for awhile, if you were a shiithead. That can get real. However, you don't have to show a Tax Stamp to ANYONE that asks for it, ever. You only have to show it to an actual BATFE Agent. If you get to that point, you already fucked up. Or, Local was REALLY being stupid, and you were legal. That won't happen often, real world. You had to have being doing something... You gotta watch this vid:
  4. Check it: posted this one earlier... Watch this vid:
  5. Ace Hardware carries the Irwin numbered bits. Ironically, all the professional extraction sets on workshopt tool trucks (not including Snap-On, they're unique, and way more $$$)... Most of those tool truck guys that hit shops have extractor sets that are pretty sweet. Matco, Cornwell, MAC Tools, etc. All those sets are made by Irwin, for them, and private labeled. Oooohh, insider info - very true. Off the truck, whatever truck that's not Snap-On, lifetime guarantee. I break something, hand it to the tool truck guy, he gets me another for free-fiddy-free, next week when he's here again. Those are all Irwin extractors , left hand bits, specialty extractors, etc - all made by Irwin then private-labeled for whatwver tool-company truck that hits your shop. Long story longer - you can trust the Irwin numbered bits that you can find in any Ace Hardware, in the blue and yellow packaging.
  6. Fuk, brother - you hate everything. I used to live in Hoodbridge, VA, not far - I mean Woodbridge, VA. Sorry, typo. I could only stand it for about 1.5 years, and realized that the DC area was not for me. I feel for you, ED. I didn't know you were in that area. We'll open up a new Support Group here and take care of you, if need be.
  7. I'm glad that search led you here - we can fix that issue.
  8. Indeed, they do. Experimentation, science, math, ammo money, more ammo money, Black Magic, and a little bit of VooDoo sprinkled in. Then, they work.
  9. Caught this trolling through Colion Noir's YT page, so I clicked it. Fuk, I know this story, it's local... Here's the news story, first, so you can kind of get some ground on this before you watch the 40-min Colion interview - reading this story beforehand will pay dividends, when you watch the vid. Surprise, AZ. Well, this is really the border of El Mirage, AZ and Surprise, AZ, based on it's location - Grand Ave and Reems Rd. I lived in El Mirage, on that border with Surprise, from mid 2007 through late 2009. I lived in El Mirage, by my postal address, and my kid walked to school 150 yards (1.5 football fields) and attended Surprise Elementary School for 7th and 8th grades. This area can be cool - this area can be rough. That's the area, and the way it is. Here's the Fox News version of what went down - click the link, read the story, then come back here so you have a basic understanding of what went down that night... https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/surprise-shooting-gunfire-at-home-leaves-1-person-dead-several-injured Now, after absorbing that, here is the guy that took down the shooter that night. He was the 2nd person shot, he was shot in the head, close to the right ear, the projectile traveled through his head, broke his jaw, went through his nose, and exited out of his left eye - he lost his left eye. He was obviously out cold. It didn't kill him, he recovered enough to put 4 rounds in the shooter's chest, and end this. This is a really, really good interview. I hope I run into the guy sometime, even though I don't live in that area anymore. I'll buy him lunch, beer, whatever. And Thank Him. Check it out:
  10. Hell yes, brother - we're 5 weeks out! We're running this thing out to a mile.
  11. This looks pretty positive. It's good to see.
  12. I have 3, absolutely non of them have adjustable gas blocks. Not necessary for proper operation; I don't use them. Well, I have 1 (.308 Win). Then a .338 Fed 16"er and a .358 Win 16"er. And a 13.5" midlength .308 Win. They all run great.
  13. Here's another good view on all this giant shiitshow... https://gatdaily.com/brace-rule-in-effect/?utm_source=GATdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2_1 Brace Rule in Effect By Keith Finch - January 31, 2023 Brandon’s video does a good job navigating the bull$hit, and there is no other way to describe the 293 page behemoth that seeks to end the ‘brace menace’ once and for.. yeah, it’s not going to do that. The ATF’s attempt to turn pistols into SBRs because *wink* ‘the shoulder things that go up’ is a mess from a bunch of angles. One of the most common things I’ve been asked is, “Should I register?” The Legal Answer By a strict interpretation of the law, yes. You should, because it is now the law. Despite this not being debated and passed through the House, the Senate, or signed by the President, it is the ‘Law’ now. Is the law made up and the points matter less than the final score of Whose Line is it Anyway? Also, yes. Your actual answer… Is ultimately up to you. Plenty of folks have declared their intent to not register anything and ride out the legal battle, and in their defense the likelihood this gets the great judicial ban hammer the way the bump stock ban did is high. Ultimately this is day 1 of 120, you don’t have to decide anything today. You can see if the rule gets stayed by the courts or congress in the interim. If you decide to free stamp a gun or two, go for it. If you want to ride it out and decide in May what to do and see what happens in the meantime, cool. As long as the initiation date on your Form 1 is May31st, 2023 or earlier I’d love to see the ATF try and prosecute that case. A first year public defender could wipe the floor with that case and add a win against the ATF to their resume early. My opinion… Is only an opinion, I am not an attorney. I know a few though. I, personally, already own NFA items, have an FFL/SOT, and had a few guns I wanted to stamp when I got around to it. So I got around to those on the EForms site, it’s pretty easy. But if you don’t want NFA items, you have at least until May 31st before anything else will be or can be done about it. That assumes that none of the lawsuits I expect to see immediately filed don’t get the rule boxed up and/or stayed in the 120 days, or thrown out completely because its entirely overstepping the authority of the ATF even if the Administration told them to do it. Remember, this is rule ATF2021R-08, it took them two years just to get it into a state that could be published as a final rule to even attempt to survive the gauntlet of legal challenges heading its way. Sit back and enjoy the shitshow, ladies and gentlemen.
  14. 0.076" gas port is way too small, for a .308 Win calibered barred of your configuration. 18" Rifle gas with a 0.750" journal diameter needs between 0.095"~0.098" to run. Add 2" of dwell time to that for your barrel, and you'll need 0.090"~0.093" gas port for that thing to run. Properly. Inspect your recoil system. You only listed 5.6oz rifle buffer, nothing more than that. Weigh it. Common it's 5.4oz, and it's not easy to make it heavier than that, with common materials that most manufacturers use. Just verify it. List the manufacturer - Of your whole recoil system. MEASURE the INTERNAL DEPTH of your receiver extension - shove a tape measure down there until it bottoms out. Needs to be 9 11/16" internal depth. Not close - right on. Get rid of the recoil spring, unless you already possess the Armalite EA-1095 spring, or the Sprinco Red spring. If you don't have one of those - find one and install it. Welcome aboard, again. Here's the Intro Section, when you have time. tell us a little about yourself. https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/
  15. I'm on page 55 right now, and it's very damn well written, and it's filed in 5th Circuit. This will be the one that destroys the "Final Rule." I encourage everyone here to read it. It's a goldmine of information. I just hit this part on page 55, paragraph 198: 198. The government “may not impose a charge for the enjoyment of a right granted by the federal constitution.” Murdock v. Pennsylvania, 319 U.S. 105, 113 (1943). But that is what the Agencies’ laws, regulations, policies, and enforcement practices do. The NFA fee operates as a charge for the privilege of exercising a fundamental right. As such, the NFA is unconstitutional for this reason alone. EDIT - just finished it. Pages 60 through the end are pretty damn good. Paragraph 210 is stellar. After that, it just gets better, all the way to the end. It's a great argument, and I think it's gonna fly through 5th Circuit with positive results.
  16. Here's all 66 pages of the filing - it's pretty good. https://assets.nationbuilder.com/firearmspolicycoalition/pages/6710/attachments/original/1675196674/Mock_v_Garland_1_Complaint.pdf?1675196674
  17. Start a build thread on it - this isn't the section nor the thread for it. Here's the build section - start your post in here with the same information: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/47-building-a-308ar/ Welcome aboard.
  18. Hell yeah, brother!

But, this is not necessarily bad news...
  20. So, looking at this from a known barrel configuration, and changing for this one. 18" midlength gas with a 0.750" journal, .308 Win, that config needs a gas port that's 0.080"~0.085". I know for a fact that 0.085" works better for any off the shelf ammo that you might pick up somewhere. Confirmed. Now, your barrel, 16" midlength gas, 0.750" journal. You're 2" less in dwell time, so go up 0.005" on port diameter. You'll need 0.085" minimum, and maybe as high as 0.090" for a gas port. Sounds like you're close. When that #43 drill bit comes in, if it doesn't fit - drill the gas port out with it. That's gonna put you at 0.089", and that's good enough. Sounds like you're close - change that recoil spring like Rex said. I bet that spring you received is too weak, can't control the ass and mass of that BCG properly, and is letting the speed get too high. That's why your cases are flinging out there at 1:30... Just the spring change will fix that. I don't think you need an adjustable gas block - unless you just want one.
  21. Let's see what happens to some of these people that jumped on the "Free SBR" bandwagon... time will tell...
  22. I buy 5.56 Lake City from them - they're legit a fuk, and I fully support them.
  23. An example of $10,000 that gets seized, when they fuk you over and 88-day you, and take your hardware... Change My Mind...
  24. Don't know what they're talking about, but here's the link to .308AR.com: https://308ar.com/ Here's the link to here, the forums: https://forum.308ar.com/ Notice the difference. Same Owner, different sites. Maybe they were mentioned in the past, but the info site has been up long before this board was up. Same owner, Drew, but operated independently. There's also a 7.62 site, that's information-only.
  25. I have these - they're damn nice, and low price. I highly recommend them.
