Ask him specifics about this. Details. If he's talking about a Quicken trust, or other software-based "creat your own" document, it won't work. BATFE has deemed these not-legal, as far as the purpose of creating an NFA Trust (which is what you need). You're better off paying a lawyer that specializes in, or is at least familiar with, the NFA Trust process. Let your dealer know it's transferring to a trust, and not to you as an individual. Fingerprints, passport photos, and CLEO signature are not required... unless you've got some kinda screwy state law mandating differently. If not, BATFE doesn't require that stuff for transfers to a trust, brother. I'm just sayin'... <dontknow>

Built this one for my son for his 15th birthday - he's becoming quite the little shooter. Time for me to locate a semi-local Appleseed Shoot to get him into. BCM upper assembly with a lightweight 14.5" 1:7 twist barrel and a pinned A2X flash suppressor, Matech BUIS, Knight's M4 RAS and vertical grip. CMT complete BCG and a BCM large GF charging handle finish off the topend. SAA stripped lower, DPMS LPK, MagPul: MOE stock, Pmags, MOE grip and trigger guard, all in Foliage. ASAP plate, BADASS selector, and an H buffer finish off the bottom end. He has to buy his own optic, but I've already got an Aimpoint QRP mount for him, so he'd be smart to buy something that will fit into it. <dontknow> Wanted to build him something that would last forever, never be a problem, and nothing but quality parts. He'll probably be out there next weekend zeroing the irons.

Wash, it's a seldom known fact that I can create a pretty decent, fitted stock. If you'd like to send her to Arizona for a couple weeks, I can send her back to you with a perfectly fitted custom stock that she'll just love. I'll pick her up and the airport, take her back to the airport, and I'll take care of all the lodging expenses... <thumbsup> <dontknow> <laughs>

All MIL/LEO personnel: Any interest in setting up a separate MIL/LEO section on the board here? It would take me about 5 minutes to set it up. Lots of places have it, and it's beneficial for discussion that wouldn't necessarily be appropriate for an open forum, in some cases. If it's created, should access be limited to verified MIL/LEO personnel, or should it be wide open to the general public? Opinions, please. Let's hear from the MIL/LEO folks on this.

Well, they're sisters, so it's in the bloodlines... <thumbsup> All I try to teach them is to have a solid base to shoot from, and it might not always be optimum, so you have to adapt. Get 'em back about 50 yards, and have them try to shoot the smallest group they can. That first pic, the poor girl was handed a 16" stainless bull barreled gun with a heavy suppressor and a magnified optic - she figured out pretty quick the best way to stabilize it to cut down on the scope wiggle. Second pic, she realized that she wasn't hitting worth a damn at 50 yards from the offhand, and she got down and got stabile. They both just started shooting about 6 months ago, and they're getting pretty damn good. ;D <thumbsup> You should see how accurate they are in the prone... <munch>

I've been seriously considering a pink-gun build, as a range loaner. <dontknow> <laughs> Anybody visits, wants to go shoot - they get the pink gun, and pics get taken (of course). Just the availability of a pink BADASS makes me want to do it even more, and it honestly probably just pushed me over the edge here. I ain't kidding. In the least. <dontknow> <lmao>

Just go ahead and buy the Fulton 18.5" MW NM 1:10 twist barrel with matched bolt. Build Goldilocks with it, for now... Once you get it and you're shooting, if you deem that combo "not worthy" for movement to another build, I'll buy it off you for what you have in it, shipped to you, and you can add the shipping to me to the cost I'd pay you for it. In that regard, you wouldn't even be out one penny. <thumbsup> I'll do that for this build, for you. Your risk is nothing, eventually, if it's not what you're really looking for. Sweet deal, brother. If that's one of the proprietary Armalite gas systems (lengths), I'd never do it, based on "options." I hope Uncle Armalite is reading this, too. This is only my opinion, and has nothing to do with the view of the people that run this board - this is all me. I don't want something I can't replace easily. Working .308 AR guns from multiple manufacturers can make standard AR-15 gas tubes work on a .308 Win firing-and-chambered semi-auto rifle, and I can get those parts literally anywhere. I can raid them off one of my own guns, if I need to; I can raid them off someone else's gun, if I need to. I have a common source to keep the gun running - I don't have to rely upon one manufacturer, or one single supplier or source, should I have a gas system failure (gas tube failure, specifically). This is also the reason I'll never own a RRA .308. No way, no how. If Armalite used standard gas tubes and gas systems, I already would have bought or built one, but I won't use one that has anything "out of the norm" of proprietary on it. I just don't have enough sources to fix it myself. <dontknow> My $0.02 - and only mine.

It's gonna be a standard AR-15 midlength gas tube (approx. 9.5"). If Noveske is really doing this, then they're the only ones doing it. Noveske is also primarily Armalite components, and Armalite gas systems are slightly different from "the norm" anyway. Don't get wrapped around the axle over this gas tube/gas system stuff, guys.

Oh, I'm in it, brother... ;D I'd honestly go with the FA barrel and bolt right now, put it on the MA-TEN build, and it'll help you forget about the wait on the LW barrel. You might not even want to take it apart leter, seriously. You might come to the conclusion that the FA setup is "getting it done," and you'd completely change lanes and do another build with the LW barrel... <dontknow> If you despise "frank" that much, you may not want to change up the MA-TEN just to put the Fulton barrel on frank. I'm just sayin'... <laughs> Whatever you do, don't reach the "waiting point" that you get pissed and cancel the LW barrel - wait for it. The 14.5" Noveske Afghan barrel has a mid-length gas system - you sure on yours, Jgun? A mid-length gas tube is 9.5" long. Just sayin'...
