  1. Heads up - VLTOR has their RE-A5 blem extension on sale for $39 right now. I picked up one last night. https://www.vltor.com/shop/ar/receiver-extensions/vn-re-a5-a5-receiver-extension/

    PT

    Indeed. Terminator status, right there.
  3. He cut it pretty close on one of the more recent ones. Can't remember if it was #4 or #5...
  4. I LOVE Go-Faster Parts, brother! Well Done!!!
  5. Okay, for real now, after the congratulatory celebration... Is #6 due in the November timeframe?...
  6. I'd rather hit a deer with that 178 ELD-X. It won't go far. For the coyotes, I like the 5.56 guns. Or a Grendel. Took a .300 BLK 'yote hunting once, but couldn't call in a single damn one of them that trip. Shady bastards.
  7. Oh Lordy!!! Congrats, Matt!
  8. They won't fly longer distances very well, will have alot of drop over distance, and the wind will buck them. Out here in AZ, I get to shoot alot of distance, so I've never messed with the lighter projectiles very much. I've used the Hornady 175 HPBTs extensively, and switched over to the Hornady 178 ELD-X a few years ago. You probably have a 1:10" twist barrel, so projectiles much under 147gr aren't gonna get great groups with that fast twist. Even 150s aren't that great (accuracy wise) out of a 1:10". If that's your barrel twist rate, you'll probably need 168s, if it's accuracy for your main focus.

    BCG

I was hoping that someone caught that email today - BA .308AR nitrided BCGs are $75 off right now. Good job on snatching that.
  10. Yep, for sure. 18" midlength with 0.750" journals need 0.085", and they'll eat anything.
  11. It's good, brother. You had your info right before - I was using your info to show the other guy that you were talking about rifle, and he was recommending (or talking about) midlength. Just wanted him to see what you were talking about.
  12. Here's a run-down on the gun, and the ammo: https://gatdaily.com/review-sig-sauer-xm5/ From the article: "Yes, 5.56 works well but we have pretty much tapped it out. " I've tapped out 5.56, for distance and accuracy. I've run 5.56 75gr handloads out to 1,050 yards, accurately, repeatedly. I've banged 1,100 yards with it, but it's losing serious steam there, and shooting conditions seriously affect when you'll make those hits, for 1,100. I've run it at 850 yards in a full-value 14.9mph wind, and it's 5.75 mils of wind hold to get it on target, and keep it on target - thank God for high-wind days, to learn that. At 850 yards in a no-wind condition, it's boringly repeatable. 5.56 gets it done, at distance, and projectile choice is an important factor in "what will happen" at distances like that. 70gr Barnes TSX projectiles rule, for that kind of distance, if you want something "hurt," or need to give something a leak.
  13. They needed something better than .308 Win, for distance and trajectory, with more punch than 5.56 NATO. I didn't understand all the shiit they talked years ago about this "magic" 6.8 round, that didn't exist, ever, anywhere - but it makes more sense now that they're talking about it. They need to defeat body armor at combat distances. I'll dig up the articles on the new guns, that were built for the new ammo. Yes, it's SIG again, go figure. They're crushing .mil contracts left and right. They're the "favored child" right now. Research the "277 Fury" cartridge. It's a 135gr projectile rolling 3,000 feet per second from a 16" barrel... 80,000 psi chamber pressure... That's some pretty serious WooPow, right there.
  14. You know what else you've never done yet, ever?... Hit a cold-bore shot at a mile... That round I used was loaded on a beam scale...
  15. Used to date a girl from Toms River. 1/2 Cuban, 1/2 Puerto Rican. That was one firey hot mess right there, but she was smokin' hot. Glad it DIDN'T work out, or I wouldn't be here right now.
  16. AR-10 Rifle gas... That's AR15 Midlength gas. AR-10 Rifle gas tubes are 15.5" long. AR15 Rifle gas tubes are 15.25" long. Here's what the bend to the barrel difference is, between AR15 and AR-10 gas tubes. This is "Height Over Bore" difference, right here:
  17. That's AR15 measurements, right there. Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube is 12 1/16" long.
  18. I can twin-turbo that for you, bro. Just sayin'... I like making Yamaha Raptors faster, brother.
  19. 5 years... really?...
  20. Keep the info updated - the more people we get to fix these guns, the more proof that we have here - of what we already know is wrong with them.
  21. Great looking Mk12 Mod H, right there.
  22. You can't really double a bottle-neck rifle case. If you make that mistake, you'll know right away - RIGHT away. They're filled damn near to case capacity, anyway.
  23. Here'e me, back there... Spring... "Oh DAMN! I can see the Mountain today!!!..." That would trigger a run to Evans Creek ORV Area, amongst my buds. Elbe Hills was ok, but Evans Creek blows it away.
  24. Don't question you - question what the "advertisers" sold you. 12" isn't even a gas tube, unless it's a custom one from White Oak Armament, and you ordered it specifically.
