  1. That's not TSA Legal, in the least.
  2. See if Pelican will replace your whole case, then. I've had luck with that in the past.
  3. Call Pelican about your latches. They'll fix them for free, if they won't stay locked, and it's not from abuse.
  4. How often do you fly with checked firearms?
  5. There shouldn't be ANY Pelican 1750 with latches coming open. There's either a "latching technique issue" or some bad latches - which I've never seen bad latches on any Pelican case. And I've used them professionally, for a very long time, and treated them like absolute shiit. Sometimes, intentionally.
  6. @shooterrex, disregard. Rifle recoil system, so you're 5.2~5.4oz. You're where you need to be.
  7. WAY too small, brother. Glad to see it's 0.081" now. That might solve the whole thing. What's the buffer weight, again? That small-ass gas port will fuk your groups all up, big time. Gun isn't doing what it needs to do in the very first place, and that affects the bottom line on what your accuracy will be - the gun is already struggling, so you won't see any fantastic groups. Hope that makes sense. Try the same ammo again, now, and see if your groups are any better.
  8. Glad I didn't jump out ahead of this... here's a report... https://sofrep.com/news/ukrainian-special-forces-have-stug-buggies-out-hunting-russian-tanks/?utm_source=SOFREP - Highly Engaged&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=European Union Joins Germany in Phase Out Russian Oil by the End of the Year (SKehQd)&_kx=GIibZaVqTUPDGw2TCJN2dMnfcKe1RL_-0Zca51LUK8I%3D.HVS3Ca
  9. His build is on the AR15 platform. You can put those things together and run them bone dry, and they'll cycle. It's not on the .308AR platform.
  10. Not in the desert - the sun fuks that shiit up. Wouldn't last a summer here, man. Deal. But, I might load you up with that new 775 target, if I'm carrying t-posts and the 16lb pounder... It's a "fun" walk.
  11. I'd think you're an absolute badass, if you can shoot out the paracord that I hung that target with. No chain, just hooks and paracord. If you shoot it - you're going back up there with me to re-hang it. And we'll put in that 775...
  12. I'll help them, but it won't help them... because it's not Gen-Pop...
  13. You'll love it - we have a new 12" circle gong up in the hill from camp, 715 yards. It's hard to find, but fun to shoot. I just hope we don't shoot what's hanging it - because I don't want to hike up there again. Ever.
  14. I think we have been - if people were inputting their barrel dimensions correctly. If they weren't, their info was garbage in-garbage out.
  15. @unforgiven, Rene, I pulled this out of the build thread. Measured the gas port - 13.5" barrel, midlength-ish gas system, using a port size of 0.081". We'll see how she runs. It's actually the Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas system, on their barrel. Gas port info will be the same, if you cut to 13.5" or 13.7". It's from this build thread:
  16. Those are gonna be 1/2 x 28, and 5.56 holes in them. Threading onto a .308 barrel will be hard, and the first round will be exciting... Does that really matter, where you are? Pistols can always turn into rifles, but rifles can never turn into pistols. So says the federal law. I'll find the gas port data from my 13.5" Armalite build. EDIT - Rene, 13.7" barrel will be better, because any company's "extended muzzle device" will reach 16". On the Armalite 13.5" barrel that I have, I used their own 4-port brake, which goes 16.10"... Also, if you're building a pistol - only a pistol - barrel length won't matter much. Well, unless these assheads go through with all this pistol-brace shiit. At that point, make sure your gun is over 26" total. OAL.
  17. They pulled that around 2019 or 2020, from what I've found. Well, they had no initial plans for it, but they took a huge step back from Ukraine support around that time.
  18. ^^^ Yep. Of course, not counting out making one.
  19. Keep me informed - we'll beat this thing into submission. It WILL comply.
  20. If my shiit works right, in my brain and experience, then you need a gas port diameter that's 0.085" MINIMUM, and possibly up to 0.090". Check your gas port, brother, and let me know what it is now.
  21. Then you both need glasses. Or contacts.
  22. I'll run some math on that and try to figure out a gas port diameter range for it.
  23. Turn it down - you have it too bright. It's flaring out.
  24. Are you gonna get this 16" midlength, and cut it down? You asking how far you can cut it down? 13.5" of barrel is about as far as you can go. You could make 12.5" work, with midlength gas, I have one, but you can't pin a 12.5 and make it legal. You can pin a 13.5 and get it legal. Shortening the barrel WILL DEFINITELY need a gas port diameter change.
  25. ^^^ That data doesn't include dealerships, at all. Just official corporate locations.
