So, here's the deal, in a nutshell. Years ago, Remington bought DPMS. 2 years ago, Remington went bankrupt. All assets for Remington went to auction, and 7 different companies bought all the pieces to Remington. PSA got the DPMS line, and the Remington 870 line. The "Gen 2" you're referring to - lots of companies make a Gen 2, and 3, etc. Judging by the barrel, if that's the one that you have, is very specifically for the DPMS G2 (sometimes called the GII). That's a .308AR made to fit in a small-frame, almost AR15-sized receivers. The company is gone, the parent company is gone. What you NEED to make that barrel run is a DPMS G2 receiver set, and a DPMS G2 BCG (complete, with bolt). Almost any AR15 handguards work. The rest of the parts are standard, and easily sourced. At this point, I'd return the barrel to Rainier Arms. If I were in your shoes. You won't find receivers, or a BCG,unless you get lucky on GunBroker or another auction site, and you'll pay out the ass. The only other option is to do a very specific search for a DPMS G2 complete rifle, and buy it. There have to be some out there in the wild, sitting on shelves in stores. You're in a pretty bad place, to try to build your own DPMS G2. My $0.02.

Got a listing for the barrel? Provide a weblink maybe? This it? https://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-arms-ultramatch-mod2-308-dpms-gen-2-spec-875-gas-block-20-satin-non-fluted/

What brand? Probably DPMS Gen 2. Could be PSA Gen 2. Need to know that before we can progress...

That's the truth, and I've narrowed it down. It's "perfection of a craft" right there. With half-a-million rounds through one shotgun... it all comes down to ONE THING. And it's simple, and it's PERFECTED... His "Flash-to-Bang" Time cannot be rivaled. Doesn't really matter what gun you put in his hands - that jackass - he'll shoot your own gun better than you do, even if you grew up with it... If you walk onto a rifle range with him, he's gonna kick your ass with a wrist-rocket. That's how it's gonna go. Period. Here's what you need to learn, just to deal with that... https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/407d32bf-9ebc-45fc-94b9-a965f3a8786e

They'll never get it by that date. No way. Hornady just can't keep up with the demand, and that bare brass in the 50-packs is gonna be years-out. 1 year ago right now, is right about the time I pulled the trig on my first 6 ARC shot - so I know what you're saying. I got in on this one early, very early.

@Lonewolf McQuade is just getting CRUSHED tonight...

You fucked that up, with what you were quoting. I'm just here for the finer points of life. Mentor-Moments, if you will. For a response about ...the PROPER response should have been... But, am I WONG?... Thanks, love you guys, no need for praise - just remember to tip your server - and REMEMBER - every single night is a new show!...

I'll help this one along, here... This is what Rex is talking about - read this thread. Then read it again. Understand the level of detail needed to diagnose a gun-problem over the internet. It's pretty specific, in level of detail, in order to give you an accurate "assessment" on your problem. Just like "double-feed." That's a magazine issue, never has been and never will be, anything else. A Failure To Extract, and Failure to Eject can also leave two pieces of brass in the chamber - but they're not a double-feed...

No WAY she'd get that pleasure - she's full of shiit anyway! No face o' mine near that crack! But I'd beat them big ol' titties with a car antenna, though...

^^^ He'd CRUSH IT... When "Survivor" came out in 1999 (around there somewhere) I wanted to enter. My plan was just to kill everyone else. I didn't know what the rules were, just what I read in the "casting announcement..."

You called him out for MOAs... MIL scopes are WAY EASIER, and MUCH MORE BETTER... Less math, makes the shooter faster... Divide your MOAs by 3.4377 to come up with the MIL equivalent. We'll all be speaking MILs out there, so the math is on you...

PM sent...

I'll PM you some details...

We're already talking about you for that job, brother... You up for driving down to Maricopa on Sunday morning, before it gets hot?...

That's gonna work, Nate. DC Machine makes the barrels for PSA (PSA owns them), and they make good 5.56 barrels. Can't go wrong there. Exactly one week after this last match, we have our own Sex Swing fabbed up, and we're test-firing it this Sunday. We'll make sure the results get posted here. @Armed Eye Doc has to have the official credit for naming this thing, too... At the shoot, they called it the "Wobble Platform." That is true, but just doesn't give it justice. We'll inform THEM that it's been renamed, and all future listings of it in the shoot details have to call it The Sex Swing...

My sentiments exactly. SOCOM does not need to invite this into the organization. Having 10 years in the organization, no matter when my service period ran through, gives me a "clue" about the mentality of the people inside said organization.

I was thinking that same exact thing!... 9 Iron, pitching wedge, wouldn't fucking matter. There'd be goose feathers everywhere, if you just carried a little "bat speed..."
-
I saw that one earlier today and thought of him, too...

That's great info, Tack - very well done.

Several of us are. Hornady can't keep the production up with the .mil contract that they have to fulfill, plus getting loaded ammo out to people that jumped on board with this round. I've never seen any Hornady brass available, since the launch of the cartridge on 3 June 2020. Only thing I've been able to do is buy 6 ARC Hornady ammo, and save my brass. I'm up to about 400 pieces. Starline hasn't picked it up yet, but they're an option. Option #1 is just get Grendel brass and resize it. Option #2 is get Starline's "Basic Grendel Brass" and resize that. That the only info I know right now... Tough time to get into a brand new cartridge.

Planned that one PERFECTLY! Gave you about 4 that were just big 'ol titties in a pantsuit ensemble, knowing you'd keep scrolling RIGHT INTO THE TRAP!!! That's my Race Gas right there, when 'm ALL fired up! Nah, bro... Those things ain't speed bags. Those are body bags, suspended by chain. HEAVY chain...

@BigNate, you brought up something that reinforced the cartridges I listed... Reduced capacity in the magazine, compared to .308 Win capacity. If you build off a .308 Win parent case, the capacity stays exactly the same... It's the same case, just necked down... And that weirdo 6.5 creedmoor bastard is still 20 rounds in the 20-rd mag, too. .260 Rem is the TICKET, man. Those .264" projectiles are magic, but the real question is... is that something that you want to reload? Finding ammo is NOT really an option, because all the commercial offerings were for hunting, in a bolt gun. Reloading it is easy, if you're already reloading. After you size it down, you'll have to turn the neck diameter down, but I can tell you the exact tool that you'll need, and where to walk in and buy it locally. KM Precision neck turning tool from Bruno's. If you don't want to reload for it, then 6.5 Creedmoor is the obvious choice - TONS of good gas-gun ammo produced by manufacturers.

Yep, damn. That's all barrel doing that, then, the difference in speeds we're seeing. 16" to 18". The difference per inch is usually smaller than that, though, for 5.56. How old/new is the barrel?
-
Pretty decent speed for a 16", brother. What primer you running?
