New to form. Looking for info on what uppers will fit on a Stag 10 lower

That's AR15, brother. Won't work. Needs to be something from this page: https://www.stagarms.com/stag-10-uppers/ -
Every new guy that's joined up in the last two weeks, asking the exact same questions, has been a Mechanical Engineer. So, you're in good company with all the other new guys. Build your gun, and shoot it, and we'll work from there, based on what happens when you shoot it. Match your upper and lower, from the same company, and cut down on your headaches - that way, you have ONE place to talk to, that makes BOTH parts. No excuses that way, from them.

Receiver extension is exactly what it is, even though people call if a "buffer tube". It's not the stock. Not all of them are compatible, either, when you start looking at recoil system components that go inside, and make the entire gun work. Or not. So, 80% lower right out of the gate, huh? See if 5D Tactical sells a stripped upper receiver. If they do, buy it. Otherwise, it's a crapshoot on compatibility, and you'll be experimenting, seeing what works, what doesn't. Maybe you'll get lucky on the first one. Your machining needs to be perfect, too. What state do you live in?...

You do not have one of the original Bushmaster guns, that Rock River bought the license to, and started making the RRA LAR-8. You have the DPMS pattern, and DPMS made it for them - they owned Bushmaster then. You truly have a DPMS gun, with Bushmaster markings. It was all under the same company then.

That's a Mk12 Mod 0 Special Purpose Rifle (started at the "Special Purpose Receiver"). That's a 5.56 gun, all the way, and that's not easy to do on a .308AR. Searching out the history of the Mk12 will get you going a long way, detail out parts, etc. In a nutshell, it's an 18" rifle-gas barrel with the PRI flip-up front sight, PRI Rifle Length handguard (the one pictured is a 3rd Gen), PRI full length SPR-PEQ top rail, and PRI rear sight. Also, search out the Mk11 rifle. That's what the military used for .308ARs. Here's a Mk11: I made my own version of what I thought the Mk11 should have been, and used an 18/5" match barrel:

Oh, NO you didn't!

If it was mine, I would have already cut that safety, on the first one. See my post from Dec 21st. -
Pretty good story on a military working dog - everytime I see something like this, I think about you, brother. @edgecrusher https://sofrep.com/news/meet-fritz-the-army-k9-just-awarded-a-medal-for-action-in-syria/?utm_campaign=Army K9 Awarded Medal (SkdfFj)&utm_medium=email&utm_source=SOFREP - Highly Engaged&_ke=eyJrbF9jb21wYW55X2lkIjogIkhWUzNDYSIsICJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJyZ3JoYXJ0bGV5QGhvdG1haWwuY29tIn0%3D Meet Fritz, the Army K9 Just Awarded a Medal for Action in Syria by Steve Balestrieri 18 hours ago Military working dogs (MWDs) are more than just a soldier’s best friend. Sometimes, they are our troops’ most valuable teammates on combat operations. They are frequently called upon to protect our soldiers in harm’s way. They have earned a stellar reputation during the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. They’ve also won respect among our enemies. Military working dogs are force multipliers. They have provided American troops with the confidence that they won’t be entering an area that the enemy has sown with IEDs. In a piece by the U.S. Army, CPL Dustin Borchardt said dogs give soldiers peace of mind. “Knowing there’s an explosive trained dog here helping keep everything safe is a big morale booster,” said Borchardt in reference to his MWD Pearl. “She’s definitely spoiled by the people on camp.” Recently, one of the Army’s dogs was decorated by Brigadier General Larry Q. Burris Jr., director, CJ3, Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, Operation Inherent Resolve, Iraq. Military Working Dogs remain an essential part of the mission to #DefeatDaesh. One K-9 partner was recently awarded a commendation medal for his part in uncovering a cache of IEDs. pic.twitter.com/DLgHYK27s3 — Inherent Resolve (@CJTFOIR) December 18, 2020 Fritz, a four-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois working dog for the Army and his handler, Sgt. Michael A. Ramirez were both awarded the Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM), with a “C” device, denoting that the award was earned in combat. Fritz and Ramirez, who are assigned to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, uncovered a cache of IEDs in Syria. Stars and Stripes was the first to report on the story of Fritz and Ramirez. The pair was on patrol, along with a civil affairs team, clearing a route late last month. Then civilians came forward, telling the team of “enemy remnants of war” in an open field. “While clearing a lane to get to the remnants, MWD Fritz veered to an area outside of the field, where he showed a recognizable change of behavior near a mound of bushes, which resulted in the location of an explosives cache,” SSG Lewis Frederick, the military working dog program manager for Operation Inherent Resolve, said to Stars and Stripes. Fritz was trained and became an Army working K9 in September 2018 at Ft. Carson, CO. There are different functions that working dogs perform. MWDs are categorized into Single-Purpose Working Dogs, Dual Purpose working dogs, and Multiple Purpose Military Working Dogs. Recently in SOFREP, we highlighted the different tasks that Single-Purpose, Dual-Purpose working dogs, as well as Multiple Purpose working dogs that are usually assigned to Special Operations units, can conduct with their handlers. Frederick added that the find by Fritz and Ramirez was the first of its kind since 2018. Inherent Resolve’s official Twitter account posted a photo on Twitter on December 18, showing Brigadier General Burris presenting Fritz’s award certificate to Ramirez after posting a picture of Fritz having the ARCOM pinned on his collar. “For exceptionally meritorious achievement,” the official award stated. “Military Working Dog Fritz’s unique abilities were vital to the accomplishment of the security and force protection mission.” Congratulations to Fritz and Ramirez on their award and for protecting the troops assigned with them. I'm glad you're out there, brother, fighting crime. With Kyber.

Here's the weather data on that 5-shot group, and the chrono data, for those that are into that, and keep records of it. Density Altitude: 2700 feet Altitude: 1414 feet Baro Pressure: 29.67 in/hg Absolute Pressure: 28.42 in/hg Humidity: 25.0% Temp: 74.5* Chrono info: 2951, 2900, 2914, 2908, 2943. Avg: 2923. SD 22.4. ES 51. That load is HAULING THE MAIL for a 225, right there. Hornady 10 Manual says that with a 25" barrel, this thing has a max load of Reloder 22 at 72.0 grains, and goes 2800 fps. I'm on a 26" barrel, at 71.8 grains of RL22. This one is a runner...

He is nimble, lithe, and quite athletic... Until we throw his hip out... 🤪

Psssshhhhh... You are WAY TOO HUMBLE, brother. WAY. You know you got the skillz...

The Bustmaster BR-308 model is identical in every way to the DPMS LR-308. All the way to the exruded upper receiver. Identical. All DPMS LR-308 parts will work on it, if they're designed for the DPMS LR-308 pattern of guns. Now, the bad news. Remington bought DPMS and Bustmaster years ago, and now Remington is bankrupt, defuct, and sold off to 7 different other companies. All the original websites, with al the tech info and historical information - is gone.
-
^^^ He just spelled it all out, right there. Just get their stripped upper receiver, and build it with a better barrel, and you'll be much happier in the long run.

C2 Tactical sucks, brother. They're in it for the buck, and don't know what they're doing. Fuk those guys. "You MUST unchamber your gun before coming into OUR store. We're PROFESSIONALS..." You're fucking morons - we're in Arizona. Everthing is chambered, you dumb fuks. Trust your audience. Or not. You obviously don't. I guess that's the Scottsdale crew that come in, and don't know what the fuk they're doing with loaded guns on their hips...

Is @JF89 still in jail?...
-
Indeed - there are some real $$$-grubbing bastards here - you'd think they're on commission from some of these companies, or something. If you have any questions, or you're concerned about any recommendations you've been given, just get with me. I'll point those bastards out, right away. They're SHADY.

What do you have on order or in the mail? Part 2

Are you just buying plates to SHOOT AT, brother?... -
The best upper to purchase is from the exact SAME manufacturer that made your lower receiver. Everything else is a crapshoot. In this world, there ARE no standards for frame/receiver manufacture. Your guess is as good as mine. Gamble, or not. Just get the same receiver as your upper - then you only have one company to blame, when it doesn't shoot like you want it to. That's my $0.02 on the whole affair. Take that for what it's worth.

DPMS Upper receiver.....high profile vs low profile
98Z5V replied to HLB's topic in General Discussion
Availability of matching rail-height handguards. Pics and the real brand name of what upper you bought, will help. Details help, more than you know... -
This was the final result of all the number-crunching on @JBMatt's string that day. Pretty fucking IMPRESSIVE!... When you do your part at that kind of distance, and the wind actually cooperates... It's fuckin' EPIC...

For the Valk, it's only gonna be using the powder that I'm using now, and that's CFE223, on the 88 ELD-Ms, at 27.0 grains, running 2813 fps out of this 18" barrel. That's a crazy load that leaving some flattened primers, but not cratered primers, no brass flow, no pierced primers, and excellent accuracy. If I could go up more, before the next accuracy node, I would - but I don't think I'll get there before I'm damaging brass... I think I found my limit, here, this weekend... I'm REALLY tempted to entirely change this thing up to Accurate 2520 powder, too. The AA 2520 is working REALLY well in the other similar sized cases, and I use that in the Grendel, and the ARC. It's working. If the CFE 223 doesn't work for the Valk, I'll shiit-can it in a heartbeat. And move to AA 2520. Just my $0.02 on it.

Here we go again. I'm down with it, if proper parts selections are made, in advance - I'll work with it. Otherwise, I'm done with the PSA stuff. There's SO MUCH information here about them, even "these new Gen 3s!" that still suck. Massive research is needed, OP. All these problems have already been fixed. Just search out the information, and get ready to drill out your gas port and put a solid, REAL recoil system in it.

You only get to "let the smoke out" once...
