  1. Which is a ToolCraft BCG, by the way...
  2. I"m not there now, so he's safe. @Robocop1051 is never safe, though. I might be in his fridge right now, and I just need to leap faster than he can draw. Pants-Down, of course.
  3. Shouldn't NEED an adjustable gas block, if the barrel is made right (gas port diameter on the money). I built up one of the 12.5" SIG barrels from CDNN, and didn't use an adjustable gas block. That gun runs like a champ, eats anything I throw at it. Get your recoil system right, make sure your gas system is straight. No adjustable gas block needed, at all. Don't waste the money, unless you plan to run it suppressed and unsuppressed. ToolCraft for the BCG. Snatch one when you can find one. Nitrided is fine, you don't need Nickel Boron.
  4. As long as you don't think you're in Vegas, and there's a concert going on outside, then we're good... What? Too soon?...
  5. So... How was she?...
  6. Carpal Tunnel, after a cylinder-full - when I don't even HAVE it... I can fully imagine that THAT pistol is something that could give you SHOULDER PROBLEMS from firing it...
  7. I get that part. List of components. WHAT BRAND is it a "factory second" of? Is it a Factory Second of Hornady Match ammunition? Is it a Factory Second of Hornady Precision Hunter ammunition? Is it a Factory Second of somebody else's M118LR clone ammunition? WHAT is it a "second" of?... What company is this a "second" of?...

Oh, this just keeps getting better... I think I directly stated that it was all about shiit-talking, and now we're rounding up more people in the shiit-talking - and it's GREAT!!! I'll go load up my 49 rounds now - wait... that's how many projectiles I had. Oh, I'll load up my 26 rounds now, because that's all the primers I had. I struck out today finding either primers or projectiles. BUT!!! I have 13lbs of RL-22 powder!!! Didn't see this reloading trainwreck coming, because I wasn't paying attention, when I should have been paying attention...
  10. What brand is this factory second? That's what really matters.
  11. Oh, heeeeeeeelllllll NO on that. I know what my rifle feels like, and the recoil that mean fucker produces. No way am I shooting that from a Hand-Howitzer... Meanest thing I wanna shoot from a handgun is @blue109's (his pops) .460 S&W Magnum. THAT is a mean bastard, right there...
  12. Exactly. Fucking geeks.
  13. Good dot - HoloSun makes it for them, and they make it for a couple other well-known companies.
  14. I've been waiting for this thread, brother - your trips to and from the Shoot are always amazing...
  15. That's over-gassed... Or under-recoiled, but not in your case here, with the changes you've made already to the recoil system. I might have missed it, but did you change out that recoil spring (buffer spring). If you HAVE put the Armalite EA1095 spring in there, then this is the reason that it's a description of "over gassed" - that BCG is FLYING. That gas PRESSURE (where's my "gas temperature" guy?...) is too much, and it's forcing that BCG to unlock before that now-empty brass case cooled enough to retract. What happens to the brass is violent, and it expands, and sticks to the chamber walls. Gas pressure too high, the unlocking process starts too soon, and the case walls are still stuck to the chamber - the EXTRACTOR loses grip of the round/case. The bolt releases the case, and it's not extracted fully yet, and it's just floating around in your chamber - the EJECTOR never got to really do it's job and fling that case out of the rifle, because the EXTRACTOR lost control of that hot case before it was back far enough to clear the ejection port. HOT LOADS can cause this, too, exactly like this - and I didn't see you mention any specific ammo that you were using. Please list the ammo specifics that you were shooting when this happened. Caps were used to emphasize the parts, and their function, not to "yell at anybody..." That make sense? Under-recoiled guns will do the exact same thing - smaller gas ports, and lower gas pressures will do that, when you have a too-light recoil system (buffer) or an under-sprung recoil system (weakass spring that's not up to the task here) - and it can't keep that BCG in place long enough for that brass to cool, and be extracted "when it's time to be extracted." Your recoil system needs to "have enough ASS to control the MASS" of that heavy BCG, and the PRESSURE that the gas system makes, through this .308 Win round... Hope the information comes across as I intended it to - if not, ask questions about it.
  16. Oh shiit!!!
  17. Ordered mine this morning.
  18. That was SO EASY, with the .45 ACP cases...
  19. Post that puppy up. Did it flip around, and the bolt face slammed into the open end of the case?
  20. Not below 2 - just the typical (military) 2~30 MHz HF stuff. The directional ground wires are an "field expedient" way to get it done, over a Directional Long Wire antenna. We never wanted a long wire antenna sticking out in front of a hide site. Long wire is much more effecient, but it's pretty visible. Mission dictates, though, and most times, you don't want anything that can be identified. I'll find some pics... EDIT - here's a goldmine on old-school army antennas: https://apps.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a155204.pdf Here's a Long Wire setup:
  21. Those were AMAZING!!!
  22. Did you happen to grab a pic of the jam/malfunction?

I just talked to @JBMatt - he does have the EGW 30MOA rail coming, and I think he just picked up that badass Athlon Cronos scope... Oh shiit, on me... Went to work on some Win Mag brass. Figured I'd see how many projectiles I have on hand... Uh oh... 49 projectiles. Checked on my primers... Damn... 26 of those. 2 mags loaded in the ammo box, and about 20 rounds in a bag in there... Looks like I'll be talking about 60 rounds for this one, unless I can find a box of primers and projectiles this week. I told Matt that it's not me vs him - it's me vs steel, alot of land in between, and his mad shiit-talking over my shoulder whilst I'm engaging this target...

Can you send me your credentials as an "Independent Unbiased Observer, Qualified to Verify Anything?..." I'd like to see that certification that you have. Come out here and see it with your own eyes - and binos, Mack. I guarantee we're making this a regular thing out here now. Once we get good at it - really good at it - and have our dope and guns dialed for this particular setup, then we'll start heading out there intentionally on windy days, to learn even more.
