Battle Arms Development BADASS Ambi Safety Selector is made wider, just for things like this. That was it's purpose, but they designed it in 2010,with no idea how far out these new .308AR 80% people would go. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. It's the only one that was made for that reason, though. It's worth a shot.

Oh, he's got the Sour Dough... Boy #3 enroute! He's doing it right!

Tons of companies making tons of parts, and got into the Big AR Game, way late. Some companies followed other patterns, very few companies followed Armalite's pattern - probably for fear of pattern infringement/lawsuits. The original pattern works - and yet I don't own a single Armalite complete AR-10, at all. I just watched what they did, which works, flawlessly. Other companies that started making these (DPMS, RRA, Bushmaster) made compromises to the original system, to stave off those problems. NOW, you have every company making .308ARs - most followed the DPMS platform. Many of them don't even make in-spec parts in the first place. Toss in the aftermarket companies that don't even make complete rifles, just components, only - making a guerss at what they need to do - and it gets even worse. Some component companies have their shiit together - most don't. I won't bullshiit you on gas port numbers. If I suggest you drill something, and it completely doesn't work on your barrel - I'll buy your barrel from you and make it work.

Your gas port is too small. It can't deliver enough gas to cycle the weapon with proper timing. Let's think about swimming underwater for a second. You're constrained underwater, and you cannot break the surface. You get to breathe through a tube, and you remain below the surface of the water. Do you think you can get a lung-full of air better through a McDonalds straw, or a 1" diameter piece of PVC pipe? Your gas port is choking your gun - because the gas can't get there through that small port. With the proper timing that it was designed around. This whole .308AR gun system is a fight between two systems that MUST be balanced. Gas System and Recoil System. If one of them is even a little out of whack - your gun doesn't work. Or, it works sometimes, but not all the time. Your gas port is too small.

Anyone thinking that they want a 16" .308AR needs to jump on this barrel. This is about 10% off. Primary Arms is the vendor: https://www.primaryarms.com/criterion-barrels-.308-m118-16-hybrid-mid-length-chrome-lined?trk_msg=LFPANHP1RJ8K93QTNT30V2I774&trk_contact=8V0L65B89JG3CKL2PPP2IG35AC&trk_sid=2AMM8422RFI3F6VPH230EJ124K&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=SLOT_15&utm_campaign=20_04_AD16_ARParts M118 profile and M118 Match Chamber, but in a 16" midlength gas... What's not to like...

Sure we can. When is this supposed to hit us? I need to step up my reloading program, based on the date. If I live, I'll need the extra ammo. This will be way worse than people fighting over toilet paper because of a strain of Flu. There WILL be survivors, somewhere, and I'm gonna be one of them.

This gives a WAY NEW MEANING to his racing name, too - "BALLISTIC BJ BALDWIN" Fucker got it done, when attacked.
-
Do you pull it up over you both, and snuggle - or are you trying to put it over her face, without her noticing? She's GONNA NOTICE, brother. I"m just sayin'...
-
Since this is about BJ, here's one of my favorite vids of him. He's got tons of skills, and giant brass balls...

Bump it up to 0.095" - your dwell time is 6.875". It will solve your problems, completely. 0.093"~0.096" will work. I never should have compared it directly to a 16" midlength barrel, just on dwell time alone. My fuk-up, there. You need more gas port diameter on that gun.

That buffer will be fine, man. I searched all the usual places that I get the EA1095s from, and everyone is out of stock. I have a spare EA1095, if things really get bad... The Sprinco Red spring is a good alternate, and was designed for this application. You could pick up a Red spring, run it until the EA1095s come back in stock, and swap it out. If you don't like the Red spring, I'll but it from you for whatever you had to pay for it, plus shipping to me, regardless of round-count that you'd rack up on it. I can always find a use for it around here somewhere. Here it is: https://www.primaryarms.com/sprinco-m4-ar15-carbine-red-extra-power-carbine-buffer-spring

Eric, what's wrong with these two chicks?! They're really this stupid now?...

That's a 2.500" buffer. What you're looking for is a 5.4oz 3.250" buffer, and that's either the Armalite AR-10 Carbine buffer, or any old AR15 Carbine H3 buffer. Ditch the spacer that you're using. Don't use it. Run the real shiit, without a spacer in that buttstock assembly. The receiver extension depth on that assembly is 7 5/8" internal depth - itwas specifically designed to run on SR-25s and .308ARs. That spacer is included so people can still run that stock with AR15s. You're not running an AR15 here. Short answer is no - you can't use a 2.500" buffer with that spring. I know the stats say that it will support it - but it doesn't. In theory, it collapses enough to use it - in the real world, you hit coil bind. Run the 3.250" 5.4oz buffer. That stock was made for it. That stock was SPECIFICALLY made for it. My $0.02 on the whole affair.

@shepp, Longmire is a great one, brother. It's worth the time, definitely.
-
Honey, you're right, I'm wrong. I love you.
-
As long as he doesn't say "greenmist" then we're all okay...
-
Or, "Shot at and missed, Shiit at and hit!" That was good, brother...
-
30 Carbine, 300BLK Factory, 8mm Mauser - if those are on hold for me, well done, brother. If not, then it sucks to be me. You can add .243 to my permanent "hold list." Same with any .300 Win Mag that you find. Just lemme know when the box is getting big, and we'll do it.
-
No real need for that. Drill the port, put the appropriate recoil system in there for the stock (UBR 2), and then work your gas to where you want it, via the adjustable block. The appropriate recoil system would be: Armalite AR-10 Carbine buffer, or any AR15 Carbine H3 buffer, and the Armalite EA1095 recoil spring. That's what the UBR 2 was designed to run, and it works very, very well.

That's the 18v batts, brother - I was talking about the 12v batts. However, I do have three of the 18v 9s, and one 12 Amp... Whatchu got for that?... It was on the chainsaw, and you saw it run, so you know it's real...

It's literally all going to La Corona Panic-Buyers that have never been gun owners before, in their life. They're buying anything, and everything, that they can get their hands on. They're trying to buy up ALL ammo, too, like it's the first/last Hoo Rah. Never-Gun-Owners are coming out of the bushes, and trying to buy everything, right now. Never had a gun before, but this is their Apocalypse...
-
I have THIS impact gun, brother. It's my go-to for heavy shiit, daily. And I mean every single day, too. I thought it was badass with the 4.0 Amp battery in it, but it's a BEAST with the 6.0 Amp battery... Check their warranty - both on the tool, and the battery. If it's not 5 years on the tool, and 3 years on the battery - then go Milwaukee. Snap-On doesn't even have those warranties on battery-powered tools, unless they changed something recently (and dropped 200% in price).
-
Pressure your legislators to get that bill through. From the timing on it, when it was introduced, it looks like is was sidelined by the current La Corona #19 issues. Get involved, get that fucker pushed through.

California ammo shipments are currently allowed.

Yep, that turned around QUICK! Libs realized what happened, and reversed that one FAST! Worthless Fuckers...
