  1. Right here - it's listed as out of stock right now - but call them on the phone... Trust me. Call them, and talk to them, and see if you can get Armalite Part # EA6070... This one: https://www.armalite.com/product/ea6070-ar10-ejector-replacement-kit/ LOCAL: 623-780-1050 TOLL FREE: 800-336-0184
  2. Looks perfect, for the extractor - just like ToolCraft builds them, with dual o-rings. You don't have an extractor issue, at all. As for that ejector - we now may never know... But shiit happens... and we get it... Your ejector ejected, one last time, so it did it's job...
  3. Right where it needs to be. Doesn't look like you have any issues, hardware-wise. Run that thing wet, like @edgecrusher stated. You don't have any parts-issues. The Armalite AR-10 Carbine Recoil System is solid. The barrel specs meet what they need to meet, to make a .308AR 18" MIdlength gas gun run. You have an Aero BCG in there, so the BCG doesn't necessarily suck - it's good, it's actually a ToolCraft BCG. Pull your extractor from the bolt and check what you have for an extractor spring setup. That's the last thing to check, hardware-wise. On the off-chance, check that your ejector is working. Other than that, run it wet, and run alot of rounds through it wet.

    Barrels

I have a few of the barrels I've mentioned, and they're all good. 16" BA Grendel barrel routinaly does .680" 5-shots. Several 18" BA 5.56 barrels do the same. My Wilson Combat .260 barrel will run 0.5" 5-shots all day long, even if I'm on coffee and Copenhagen before I shoot it. I feel your pain, and I'll hate it when one of these starts to open up. When they do, they'll get sent off and chambered-up. The 5.56 barrels will become 25-45 barrels, the .260 will be a 7mm-08, the Grendel barrels will become grounding rods - I can't chamber those things up... I hear ya... So many Match quality AR barrels out there, in so many calibers - there's no reason for a custom barrel anymore...
  5. And that was probably heavier hammer spring. Smack those Hard Nasty Russkie Primers!...
  6. That one is definitely a heavier trigger spring - but don't put that in, you don't need it. Won't help with what you're describing. Here's where my heavier springs live:
  7. My personal situation is similar, but not identical - I'll buy something, shoot the shiit out of it - and stick it in a locker or safe... And I'll "find it again" when I'm looking for another gun I might have forgotten about... For real... I have this same rifle, too, man - Ruger American 30BLK bolt gun - I love it. I need to suppress it, but I still love it just like it is. I miss GreyGoose...

Zero need for a custom barrel maker, then.
  9. Hold the trigger to the rear after recoil - cognizant thought to do it. That's the only real way to check trigger followthrough anyway, when you're working on Natural Point of Aim (NPOA). Anything else isn't a real way to check your NPOA. Nevermind - I see what you're saying now...

    Barrels

We're posting .308 Win caliber barrels - and you haven't even stated the caliber that you'll hunt with yet...

If I was hunting this gun - meat matters. I'd run one of the ones that Doc posted above, or this one. https://shopwilsoncombat.com/Match-Grade-Barrel-308-WIN-Bill-Wilson-Hunter-17-1-1125-Twist-Stainless/productinfo/TR-308BWHRG17RC11.25/

What are you hunting, and what's the max distance that you would make a shot at an animal?

Both Wilson Combat and Faxon are great barrels. As well as Ballistic Advantage - and LaRue, if you haven't looked at them, yet. Between those companies, if you can't find the profile that you want - then check Fulton Armory. Once you've exhausted those companies, and still can't find what you need or want -it's off to the custom barrel maker...
  14. So, you were at SHOT this year?...
  15. Solid build list. BA barrels typically run AR15-length gas tubes, so you should be okay with the AR15 midlength gas tube. Go ahead and assemble it with one, and check the length - it should look just like this, and the gas tube should end in the center of the cam pin cutout in the upper receiver - just like this: As far as running the Aero rifle buffer kit - the buffer will be 5.200" long and weigh 5.4oz - the buffer will be good. The receiver extension will be good, and measure an internal depth of 9 11/16". I don't know about the spring that they use, but try it first. If you have something funky happening with the cycling of the rifle, then switch the spring out to the Armalite EA1095 spring. Gasport diameter on your barrel should be something between 0.080"~0.085" - measure that before you assemble everything. Welcome aboard.

    New Rifle, Rem 783

Athlon Argos BTR, Gen 2. Differences... The original model used plastic spacers to "stack" and set your zero-stop. Brass internals/dials. The new one went to the zero-stop setup like I got on that Athlon Midas 2.5~15 scope - and that's a slick system. I got that first gen Midas at a steal, because they were blowing them out to clear inventory, and launch the Gen 2 Midas. Difference - all stainless steel internals and dials, including the zero-stop. That's the same change made to the Argos BTR Gen 2, from the older first gens that I have. Overall - better zero-stop setup, and stainless internals/dials. Great upgrade that they've made.

    New Rifle, Rem 783

Picked up the glass, rings and level Saturday, mounted/leveled everything up Saturday night, and shot it today, for it's maiden voyage - great rifle! Went with the new Athlon Argos BTR 6-24x50 in mils, the new Gen 2. Rings are Warne Maxima steel rings, medium height. I might be able to squeeze that scope into Warne's low rings - and I might have too much scope on this rifle like this... Might switch it out to a 4~14 or 2.5~15 instead. The 4~14 would definitely run on some Warne low rings. Scope level is Vortex 30mm. So, it shot GREAT. Right after mounting and leveling everything up, I hit is with the laser boresight and set everything up - very minimal rounds expended to zero that scope at 100 yards. Ran it at 200 and 250 yards, and the dope chart I made is right on the money - at those distances. Had a target out there at 500 yards, and I couldn't see impacts, or any dirt splash. Don't know if I was connecting out there at all. Medium wind, 5 gust 8, but I wouldn't think it would push it off that much... Don't know... This is the only experience I have with a .243. Main goal today was help a guy zero his Savage .338 LM bolt gun. Once we got out there, he handed me the gun and boxes of ammo... to zero his gun. Got that done at 100, moved over to the 500 to find out what his drop was at that range. 2.3mils of drop using S&B 250gr HPBT loaded ammo. Good day, overall.
  18. That's some good reloading work, man - well done. Here's my comment from the .380 thread:
  19. Yep, that'll do it. That's all about mass in motion, right there, and that thing peeled open quite well. I wouldn't want to be that bear...
  20. Yeah, might be, and I'm fine with it.
  21. Armalite AR-10 Carbine Gas Tube was spec'd in the list. The Armalite AR-10 Carbine Gas tube is 12 1/16" long. The AR15 midlength gas tube is shorter. The pic that Doc quoted clearly shows that the gas tube is perfect in this gun/combination - ends directly in the middle of the cam pin cutout, where it should. An AR15 midlength gas tube would have been too short, with this combination. OP, what's your gas port diameter? It's too small. I'm betting it's around 0.070", and it needs to be 0.080"~0.085" for that list of barrel specs. Check your gas port diameter, and get ready to drill it up. Everything else in your parts lists looks good, and your failures are what I've seen from too-small gas ports.
  22. That's fucked up...
  23. I hear you can fetch a great price for a healthy kid these days...
  24. GREAT updates/details on the recoil system and gas port diameter, man! Awesome info!
  25. If you dont click that second quote, you'll miss this review - just stay informed, OP - research your parts, and your vendors.
