Ruthless, ain't they... No shame...
-
I'm sure a bunch of you guys have heard this song - Dirt Road Anthem. Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford wrote that. That was before Brantley Gilbert was doing alot of his own stuff - he was writing songs for others to sing, mainly. Well, he gave that song to Jason Aldean... and we have this one, which is the one that most people know... There's another one now, and I think it's the best version, by far. Wait for it... he cuts loose at the end...

That's EXACTLY why you need to make them feel "comfortable" when they visit YOUR habitat...
-
I documented the difference, and the mods you have to make to run 300BLK through a PMag - in some thread, somewhere here. Kill those nubs at the top, that guide the 5.56 rounds - cut 'em out, file them down, whatever works. Just get rid of them.
-
That fucking pigtail gas tube is crazy - but it's effective. It turns a carbine gas system-barrel into (effectively) a midlength gas system. That shiit is nuts!... I don't think this is a gas problem - I think you had a mag problem. By the way, you send the documentation to MagPul, and they'll send you another PMag - they won't even want the old one back - they're that good about it. If you call them on the phone, and talk to a human in Customer Service about the problem, brother - they'll probably send you one of these to replace it: https://www.magpul.com/products/pmag-30-ar-300-b-gen-m3-300-blk They know there's something up with 300BLK, or they wouldn't have made a special mag for the round.

Oh, you finger-pointing bastards... I see, I see. Gotta lay the blame on someone... Now I see where the cards fall, and whom them fall onto...

Brother, don't TEMPT him!!!...

Pacnor barrels burned down
98Z5V replied to Armed Eye Doc's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
That's where John Noveske got his start. Once he branched out on his own, he had PacNor make all his Noveske barrels. The barrel makers also worked for him, so when they clocked out from PacNor at the end of the day, they clocked in to "Noveske Rifleworks" and started making Noveske barrels. Here's another article from the same newspaper - this SUCKS... https://www.currypilot.com/news_paid/photos-structure-fire-flames-destroy-local-rifle-barrel-plant/article_8ebf3036-f5e7-11e9-bcf4-db31cb53aede.html -
I must get Gun Pusher John to send me that vid he took of the whole affair. Once I get it from him, it'll be in here.

This is fuckin' AWESOME news, brother...

^^^ THAT GUY... was bangin steel out of sheer Conviction of Character. It can be no other way. He "guided" the bullets into the targets, through a combination of skill, manly presence, and sheer will-power. I think he did some Angelina-Jolie shiit and CURVED those bullets into the targets... Oh, on the "Conviction of Character..." Disclaimer... Just because you ARE a character, doesn't mean that you HAVE character... (That's not you Ron... Oh, do you HAVE some character, fucker... )

Hey brother - I don't feel guilty about this at all, since we later (after your post here) completely trashed @desertdust's intro thread... Don't change any of your bitchin' 5.56 guns yet. Hear me out... You and I are so close together... lemme know when you have a weekend, or even a Saturday or Sunday... I'll set the shiit out there at 850-and-beyond. My point is... Let's TEST some different calibers and whatever... that's already here in the arsenal. Don't change anything on yours yet. Let's go experiment. I have the calibers, or what-not. You can literally let me know on a Saturday, that you wanna come over here and blast up "xx" whatever - We can roll on Sunday early and do it, and still get you back home in time for dinner... Before you change up anything on those guns - let's shoot more at distance, and figure out what to change, and why... Surprisingly, it might just be an ammo change. Weather for us changed - I'll shoot EVERY weekend, man, now that it's decent out there. I work 9~1 on Saturdays (but can get out of work) and I never work on Sundays. My time is easy, brother.

What's super-important here Joe is this - is this a 100% full-on factory rifle that you bought, that DPMS built and shipped to the guy that you bought it from? Or did that guy change anything with it? What YOU have in your hands is the most important part. Pics of your rifle will help, because diagnosing gun malfunctions over the internet, based on what someone SAYS they have, based on what someone TOLD them they sold them... Just sucks. Because it's seldom ever right. Pics, man, pics. Get pictures of your rifle in this thread, then go hit the Intro Section and tell us about yourself. Info isn't free - there's skin in the game. Tell us about you, and you'll get more replies. Here's the Intro Section: https://forum.308ar.com/forum/22-introductions/

You talking about this? Which one is you, and your rifle?

It ends up more like this - if you've ever seen this movie...

Fuckin GREAT SHOT PLACEMENT, brother!!!

If I had to pick a barrel for a build, using your parameters, I'd buy this one for the build: https://www.ballisticadvantage.com/16-inch-308-tacgov-mid-ss-premium-barrel.html It's better than $50 off right now, through Ballistic Advantage. All their "Premium Series" barrels are "Match" barrels. I have a pile of these barrels, in different calibers, and they don't disappoint. Every one of them is one HELL of a shooter.
-
Not really - overall. A few ounces here are there, min to max. Going with the thicker of the two barrels will be better since you're running suppressed, and have additional weight hanging off the end of the barrel. You'll have less POI shift as it heats up, with a thicker (of the two) barrel. Since it's a hunter, though - it really won't heat up. Tough call, parameters considered...
-
Yeah. You're screwed. And it's too late for you already - you're here, made your intro, nobody is pissed off at you... So you're STUCK here... Welcome to the NutHouse...

^^^ One of the most truthful things that I learned from my Grandfather, right there. He'd tell me that when I fucked up with tools, in the garage, and hit/hurt/cut myself... Every single time I busted a knuckle, he'd HEAR it happen, and say that... If I ever slipped, and didn't bust a knuckle or something, and just dropped a tool because of it, I'd hear, "DON'T DROP THE TOOLS PUS$Y-FINGERS!!!" and then I'd get a lesson on what tools cost, and why you take care of tools...

The pencil barrel would be good for hunting. I think you stated it's gonna be suppressed most of the time. You'll basically only need the Cold Bore shot and maybe one more. The Faxon Pencil would be ideal for this - unless you're running a 3lb suppressor off the end of it. That BA barrel would be good too. I'll tell you - both WILL be accurate barrels.
-
Real-Deal Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube (12 1/16" long) and change some recoil system parts out - and drill your gas port up in diameter. Since you stated it's the 18", then it's probably the PSA 18" midlength gas barrel. As far as I know, they don't do an 18" rifle gas barrel. And, it's a 0.070" gas port diameter - which is too small. Needs to be 0.080"~0.085". P.S. - PSA isn't going to "fix this" and make these changes for you - they think their combo works perfect.

For those that are unaware... I keep a Sweet Sue Canned Chicken in my camper. That canned chicken has been to the last 4 shoots (Fall and Spring), so 2 years now. If anyone ever feels froggy during one of the shoots... I'm just sayin'...
-
I think it was @DNP that said, "If it can't kill him, he's not even interested..." The more I thought about it... he's right...
-
Sweet Baby Jesus. GNX? Or Grand National? If that's a GNX, I want a ride in the passenger seat. Hell, "just" a Grand National - I still wanna ride in the passenger seat...
