  1. I think that thing says 1/2" Body Form ar500 target... It's a fraction, for sure. If that's the 18" x 26" IPSC plate, and it comes with other free shiit, and cheaper than the 18" x 26" IPSC plate - then snatch it, brother! x2 for me!...
  2. With the IPSC target?
  3. Empty gallon milk jugs. We need alot of them...
  4. I"m down for two more of those 18" x 26" IPSC plates. I didn't see those heavy bitches in the packages. You have two of those things, right? That would be 6 total, in place out here - we might not have to move as much stuff around, with 6. Thursday during setup, we'll get that 450 out there for the Thursday night shoot. We can also run a 660 out to the north again - that way, we can confirm the zero on @Rsquared's MRAD. Those can stay, if we have 6. Friday is Long Range, and we'll have 4 we can take out there for it. 500, 845 are a given. 1300 was surveyed already, and I know where to put it, but I also want something at 1000. This can work... After Friday's Festivities At Distance, we can bring those giant fuckers back to the short-side, and set them up in between distances already set... that way, some people can hit something... The "Spray-N-Pray" Crowd has hope...
  5. I shoot back...
  6. Nope, you're okay. You buy some tungsten weights? Buy this buffer, when it comes back in stock: https://dsgarms.com/dsg-4201-0021 It's a stainless steel body, filled with steel weights. Replace those two steel weights with two tungsten weights, and you'll have a buffer that weighs 5.15oz. Sign up for the email notification on it, when it's back in stock, and snatch it as soon as you see that email...
  7. You do realize why I'm pointing this out, right? You keep calling everything "AR-10" when it's not AR-10. There are distinct differences. That Alex Arms you got is not an AR-10. If it doesn't say Armalite in the side of it, then it's just simply not an AR-10. This board exists because of those differences.
  8. Exactly. Stainless just means it will "stain... less..." Stainless can rust. Cerakote in threads or on barrel gas port diameters isn't a big deal, unless it gets put on there HEAVY. Cerakote goes on at 5/10-thou thick. That's 0.0005". I spray alot of the heat-cure Cerakote, and I don't even mask things off anymore - it doesn't make a difference if I do, or not. Paint lowers, and trigger and hammer pins still fit. That kinda stuff. Now, I've never seen Cerakote do what your barrel is doing. I've seen it discolor, on a suppressor, though. Nothing like what you're showing in that pic, though, no way. I'd ask them what type of Cerakote they applied, and send them that pic... There's an Air-Dry Cerakote (C-Series) and a Heat-Cured Cerakote (H-Series). The C is better for high-temp applications (headers, suppressors, etc), but the H is tougher for abrasions and general abuse.
  9. Your buffer spring is okay, then. So is the receiver extension internal depth, for that system. The buffer, at 2.550" is 0.050" long, but that's not an issue in cycling - the weight of the buffer is an issue. Can you put up a pic of the buffer? If it's 3.8oz, it's probably an aluminum body with two tungsten weights inside. That's about the only way to get that combination. If you can pound out the roll pin from the end, and break it down - that will help here - because I have solutions, depending on what's inside it. Don't stick a magnet to the outside if it, and tell me it's a steel body - a decent magnet will attract to an aluminum body, through the steel weights inside. If I could invent an aluminum magnet, I'd retire. That's my "velcro" right there. That gas port diameter - I completely trust you on your measurement. It's too fucking big for that barrel combo - WAY too big. When you're approaching 0.100" in gas port diameter, that's damn dear 16" rifle gas territory, right there. It's WAY too much for an 18" midlength. WAY. You should be closer to 0.070"~0.075" on an 18" midlength. That can't be reversed, at it's size. Only way to solve that one is adjustable gas block, choked down. I'm not kidding on that part. You have two things going on here. WAY overgassed, and a light buffer for a "normal gassed" .308AR. Please break down that buffer, pics before and after. I can solve the buffer part pretty easy. Adj gas block is needed to solve the giant gas port in that barrel...
  10. JB Matt has a line on one of these, that was made by Armalite in the earlier '90s. Not this new Brownells reproduction. He's lined up at a very respectable price, and I hope it doesn't fall through.
  11. That's a large gas port for an 18" midlength gas barrel - quite large. It's too big. One thing is gonna fix that, and it's an adjustable gas block, dialed down. That thing is overgassed for sure, and the buffer is too light. Those two things are fighting each other, for certain. Overgassed and weak recoil system. I'll bet that thing just pounds your shoulder. That buffer is light - you need something 5.4oz, or close. I need the internal depth on that receiver extension, not the OAL. At 7.125", it's not gonna be the longer one, for sure, but you need to see if it's short - it should be 7.000" internal depth - but it should also have more than a 0.125" end on it - that thickness is an issue, overall, if it's a true 7.000" internal depth. Spring doesn't look bad for length, or coil count - but what's the wire diameter? You are looking for something around 72-thou for wire diameter. Measure the internal depth if the extension with a tape measure - bottom it,but you wanna read the tape that the top of the extension, where it ends at the top of the lower receiver - not at the bottom, by the FCG pocket.
  12. Armalite AR-10s have never, ever used any AR15 recoil system parts - unless you count the distinct interchangeability of the AR15 H3 Carbine buffer being identical in every way to the Armalite AR-10 Carbine buffer...
  13. You have an Armalite, too? What's the details on that one? Welcome aboard.
  14. This is a definite YES...
  15. Fucking EPIC!!!
  16. I've got fresh, new cans of flat white, and flat brightass yellow.
  17. I'm WAY behind... I primed 150 x .338 Lapua Magnum last night. Prepped them all the days before. I need to primer up 250 x Grendel tonight, and maybe drop powder and projectile on those Lapuas. I've got 250 5.56 LC brass I need to get through for 75gr heavies in the 5.56 guns (they're cleaned and resized, crimps cut out already). Have to get through Win Mag final test loads before Sunday morning - then select a load and get them loaded up. Same with the 140gr and 147gr .260 Rem loads - they're done, they need shot, combo selected Sunday morning, then load both up for next week. Something like 100 pieces of 338 Fed cleaned and resized. Need those running by this time next week... Gonna be long nights, and the coming weekend...
  18. If you need heavier buffer information, I can go over all that stuff with you, in spades. I'll need details of your setup, that I'm sure you are able to provide. Type of recoil system - rifle or carbine (collapsible stock). Internal depth of receiver extension. Relaxed length of the buffer spring, coil count, and wire diameter. Buffer length and weight. Type of barrel - 18" midlength gas, 16" midlength gas, 20" rifle gas, etc. Barrel gas port diameter. That's the necessary info do get into gassing and reciprocating weight/spring strength.
  19. That is incredible, brother!
  20. 98Z5V

    120v AR

That's not gonna compare to mine, brother...
  21. You're fucked. It's not even starting to sink in quite yet. Just lay back and let it happen.
  22. I'm still skeered....
  23. You DO know that YOU are the motherfucker that started this Silverback bullshiit, right?!... It's all because of you... in 2012... Walk through the doors, and say "Hey, you with that BIGASS WHITESPOT! That's GOTTA BE TOM!!! YOU SILVERBACK MOTHERFUCKER!!!"... Yeah, YOU did that... I am your creation, so live with it...
