Don't be skeered, brother - just lay back and let it happen... Make the flight, and the time - once you do, you'll be talking about it for years. Until next year, once you're HOOKED...

Haha! Same dick you always were, when it came to my comments. There's a reason your topic hasn't been commented on, and it's based on your past. I thought I'd throw you a bone, but you proved yourself again. Good luck with your NRA High Power - happy researching, on something you already say you have alot of experience in. -
The more I think about it, the more this could be great for both sites here - .308AR.com AND Full30... I can guarantee you that you won't run out of video to host, or things to talk about on the board - and it can increase the numbers of the Fall Shoot (vetted members, no boneheads). This is in wide-open desert in AZ, and we make our own rules here. I just received 52lbs of Tannerite today, too... for this shoot. The basic layout right now is this - Oct 18~21, fly in the day before, fly out the day after. Inclusive dates are 17~22 Oct ( if you can properly plan, and read a calendar ( @Robocop1051 failed this task already). Thurs is "get your lead out" day, and setup for the night shoot, out to 450 yards in the dark. Friday is Long Range day. Right now, I've surveyed out to 1300 yards, but we can go 2200 yards - .338 Lapua Magnums only, gonna hit that one. Saturday is Run-N-Gun Day, rifle and pistol, out to 450 and 660 yards. Sunday is High Angle Day, shooting down at distance - quite the eye opener for distance shooting. Here's the details, in 20 pages of AD/HD bulshiit... Here's the real-deal info, in the "don't reply, just give info" thread: If you guys from Full30 can make it out here in time, this will get even MORE Epic...

Brass looks good - no light strikes there. Gonna take a few rounds to fully break it in, so shoot the piss out of it, well-lubed of course. VERY well lubed.

Same offer goes to @Robert@FULL30, but he has to pay $20 bucks admittance. That's completely arbitrary, but I just came up with it. I don't know why.

I don't know if I'll drive my monkey-ass all the way to the east coast to hit you up, from AZ - but you're welcome to fly out here for a Fall Shoot. Next one is in two weeks. Lemme know your flight details, and I'll pick you up. The Spring Shoot out here is small, and only comprised of the most-hardcore. All the weiners only make time once a year, and the Fall Shoot is YUGE! (Donald-Trumpian voice there) If you can figure it out, and get here, you won't be disappointed. All you need to bring is basic toiletries for your personal hygeine, whatever pink lacey thongs you like to wear (they pack small, in a backpack), an open mind, and the mental stamina to keep going for 23 hours out of a 24-hour day... Guns are provided, but you gotta wait in line, after the senior members "pick" their gun. I know already that the Mk12 Mod 0 is taken by @edgecrusher. Look for cheap flights to Phoenix... We welcome you out here, and the time to make this is extremely short. You'll be well-hosted, fed, housed, but not bathed... That's on you... that's for damn sure... THAT is some board-bonding, right there. You will NEVER run out of stories to tell on Full-30... "There was this one-time, I actually braved it and went to a .308AR.com Fall Shoot..." I have extra pink lacey thongs, if you can't fit them into your bag...

You, self-proclaimed, have a ton of NRA High Power experience, right? You stated that in the past. Why do you need us to tell you what the rules are, in NRA High Power, with your extensive background in NRA High Power? Your whole post has me confused - you act like you wanna get into it, - but you've already been into it, in the past. Therefore, you know where to look for the rules on this class (There's two classes you can enter, actually). What's the deal here, Ripper51/MSchwartz?... You've been here since 2012, so your time here is on the "senior" level. I don't understand your question, based on your background, and your stated experience... I'm confused, here... Please explain... -
"Hermit" is the fucking understatement...

Damnit. I never win anything. I should have paid and used @392heminut for my name... Congrats to the winner! -
Basically, here are your options for calibers in the Short Action .308AR frame... Left to right: .308 Winchester, .243 Winchester, .358 Winchester, 7mm-08, .260 Remington, and .338 Federal. You can run those without wildcatting anything. Barrels are available, reloading dies are available, and the parent case of .308 Win is readily available to make your own brass. .260 Rem it tricky, when you make your own brass - there are some .308/7.62mm cases out there that you would have to turn down the necks after down-sizing it, because shrinking it down makes for a thicker neck - and it won't chamber, because of that. .243 Win (necked up) and 7mm-08 brass (slightly necked down) is excellent for making .260 Rem brass. Some of the .308s are tricky, though, and you have to monitor it. I only use Hornady .308 Win Match Brass for making .260 Rem, and the neck diameter is fine after downsizing. Making .243 Win from .308/7.62mm brass would give you the same circumstances, and you'd have to watch the neck diameter after shrinking it down. If your quest for the ".40 and up" is a must have, about the only thing you can do is wildcat that .308-.416...

First AR10 Build. Help me choose a handguard

That link to that barrel is so conflicted, it's not even funny. I have an idea, though - they're a sponsor here. Let's get them right into this, right now, and break it down... Ballistic Advantage, please address this issue here. There are differences in the Armalite AR-10 barrel extension, and the DPMS-based LR-308 barrel extension. There are differences between the Armalite AR-10 bolt, and the DPMS-based LR-308 bolt - we've noted those bolt and BCG differences extensively here, on this board. In advertising, if you're listing something IN your page saying it's an AR-10 barrel - then that's an Armalite AR-10 barrel. Period. And it's NOT a DPMS-based LR-308 compatible barrel. It's apples and oranges. It really is. What I ask of you, is that you please lead this industry - that is SO fucked up - and list your barrel for what it really is. It's a barrel for a ".308AR". That's all it is. It's DPMS-based, later, when you read through your link to the barrel - and it's definitely NOT an AR-10 barrel, yet you primarily list it as that. Let the people figure it out, and stop the clickbait of "AR-10" - when it's not. I hope to hear from you soon. Love, Tom-Ass. -

Call Ballistic Advantage and find out of that damn thing is really an AR-10 barrel extension on it, that they built. They state it's AR-10. Find out what they're doing here. If it IS an AR-10 barrel extension, you need to run an Armalite AR-10 BCG in that thing. I've done it - Armalite guts (complete) run in DPMS-based receivers, and mine runs like a raped ape. Another thing - they say it's "midlength." If it's a true Armalite pattern, you'll need the Armalite AR-10 Carbine gas tube on that thing. Trust me on that. If they drilled that gas port "halfway in between" DPMS and Armalite specs, you'll need the AR-10 Carbine gas tube anyway. Specs are out the fucking window these days, man - I'm just sayin'... Since Aero Precision and Ballistic Advantage are one now, I'm betting that's not an AR-10 barrel extension. It's gonna be DPMS-based. But call anyway... -

Yep, we locked it up - it's sold out now... I'm in that #9 slot. -
Nope, save the time. Just drill it up. Toss a 1/4" wooden dowel down the barrel to protect the other side, if you get heavy with the drill hand.
-
You're doing great on this thing, man - fantastic.
