  1. All these homos talking smack have probably never had to make a pistol caliber AR run like it should, brother- fear them not. Here's some pistol-cal info that they probably missed - because they're too scared to build one... Posted July 23, 2017 I don't think they're necessary, but I think they'd be helpful. The specialty buffers are not only heavier - they're longer. Blowback operated pistol cal carbines have a shorter BCG, because they've got a fixed bolt -not a reciprocating bolt like normal ARs. Based on that shorter length, you need to take up some space in the receiver extension. The most common way is to stack 7 quarters in the receiver extension before you install the spring and buffer. The specialty buffers are a little longer, designed that way for that reason. I run a regular AR15 Carbine H3 buffer, plus $1.75 in mine. The recoil is so tame, the sights don't even come off target. That's why I say "not necessary," but they can be helpful. Up to you.
  2. What the hell WAS that thing? A Shim?
  3. Split their wig, brother.
  4. NICE!!! Get some pics in here once that bad bastard arrives!
  5. DAMN!
  6. Do threaded, even if you don't want a muzzle device - you can simply put a thread protector on it. Even on the threaded barrels, they machine a target crown, so there's nothing to lose by doing threaded - and nothing gained over unthreaded and target crown. If you don't do a threaded barrel, it'll suck down the road when you want to hang something off the end of a plain barrel. No need for the limitation, IMHO. What kind of buffer and spring, receiver extension? Just checking now, in case problems arise later.
  7. Hit the intro section and make a post- and stick around! Show off these beauties, man! Don't know of any genuine AR-10 BCGs for sale right now, but would a current-production still be workable and legit in these?
  8. That is awesome, man! Good work, and good deer!!!
  9. Damnit Angel!!! Now you gotta give up the details on the KSG, man!!!
  10. Can't wait to see this beast - .260 Rem is on my short list.
  11. Fuk me - midlength. I posted the stats in the gas port thread, and forget the gas length...
  12. Another 6.5 Grendel barrel spec: Faxon Firearms 6.5 Grendel gas port info: Match Series- 18" Gunner, 6.5 Grendel, MIDLENGTH GAS SYSTEM, 416-R, 5R, Nitride, Nickel Teflon Extension - Gas Port diameter = 0.077".
  13. No worries on the port diameter info - good that it's there. There's a definite difference in it now - that BA barrel is about a pound heavier than the Faxon barrel. 26.88 ounces (1.68 lbs) for the Faxon, and the Ballistic Advantage is 39.3 ounces (2.45 lbs). You can definitely feel the weight difference. That BA barrel will stay in this rifle, for sure. That Faxon barrel will turn into a lighter-weight hunting rig. Just what I need - more of them... Faxon Firearms 6.5 Grendel gas port info: Match Series- 18" Gunner, 6.5 Grendel, 416-R, 5R, Nitride, Nickel Teflon Extension - Gas Port diameter = 0.077".
  14. ^^^ Looks like the laser engraver screwed up, honestly. It probably should have been etched "PA-10" and not "PA-1."
  15. 7.62x39 puts down people at greater ranges than 200 yards, and 5.56 does as well. 300BLK is at least comparable, or better, than the x39, depending on what your projectile weight is. I wouldn't even hesitate to take a shot at 600 yards on a human-sized target, or large animal, with a 5.56 - as long as it was a 1:7" or 1:8" twist, and some Mk262 ammo. It would be even better with some Barnes 70gr TSX loaded up. You get some light .30 cal TSX rounds loaded into a BLK case running supersonic, know your holds or scope drops, and it would be much more effective than the 5.56 referenced above. ART... load some of these babies up... Barnes 85gr TSX for .243 Win...
  16. Update in your other thread, on the specific issue...
  17. That new buffer they're shipping is fucked, too - for a 308AR Carbine recoil system, it should be H3-weighted, minimum. Those buffers they are shipping are light. H at best, and unmarked means "standard" AR-15 carbine buffer weight...
  18. Man, I've been all over this since November, from the Fall Shoot. PSA is fucking this up bad. Here's some recent info: To complicate things even further, it looks like they did an interim switch to the (too long, internal depth) almost-AR-10 Carbine style, and were still shipping the DPMS-based LR buffers... Long tube + short buffer = BCGs crashing into the ears on lower receivers... Awesome, PSA. Great work, guys. So far, based on two recorded accounts, and one I personally measured, those new-ish carbine receiver extensions are between 7 7/8" internal depth and 8"internal depth - both TOO LONG for the Armalite-based parts. Correct internal depth to run those parts should be 7 5/8". PSA doesn't know what the hell they're doing with the buffer springs, either... My $0.02, based on what I saw, and what's been reported here...
  19. If you want to match up dimensions from DPMS-based to the PSA stuff - just to get numbers, and differences - I can send you a Fulton Armory BCG to measure out. Lemme know if you want to. There's no timeframe limitation, as long as I get it back...
  20. Man, ain't THAT the damn truth...
  21. I told you guys that this was one longass sunshade... Damn...
  22. Do it, Rob... It's waiting for you...
  23. Update, with medium rings. Never got shot, either. That happens in the morning... Finally...
  24. Modify the KRG Bolt Lift, brother. Start with that. Dremel for close fitment. I didn't fuk around when I installed mine, and I epoxied those bitches on. Fuk those o-rings they include. If I hadn't done that, I'd pull one off and check it for fitment for ya. They come is two sizes now. Men-with-real-hands, and Men-that-are-afraid-of-real-bolt-knobs. Be careful which one you order - you need the big ones, like me. I like to grab onto something sizeable... $28 shipped - you can't beat it, even if it doesn't work.
