  1. Not for those kind of comments, brother, that this specific asshead muttered - those are never appropriate, despite political party or affiliation.
  2. Had to fix that for ya. LIberal shiit-talker got what he deserved. Militarily, they used to call punishment for this... "The Consequences of Your Actions..."
  3. Holy Sheeeeiiiit! NOBODY is safe in this place...
  4. Here's another PHENOMENAL graphic resource on the issue. It was made by some dude I know... https://762ar.com/technical-information/visual-differences-m15-ar-10b-and-ar-10a-components-ar-10a-versus-the-ar-10b/
  5. Pick up a FIELD gauge. Might be hard to find one. That's militarily used to check in-service chambers - that fail the No-Go. You can still run a military rifle that fails No-Go, as long as it doesn't fail the Field Gauge. Once it does, it gets re-barreled. However, as SS stated above - find out what chamber the barrel manufacturer cut in that thing first, or you'll chase your tail on this. If it's truly a .308 Win chamber, and not some hybrid chamber, then find a Field gauge. EDIT - for clarity, finding a 7.62 NATO Field gauge might not be that hard. Find a .308 Win Field gauge might be tough...
  6. To get back to the original question - that upper and that lower will not work together. When Armalite made the A rifles to accepts PMags (and other DPMS/SR-25 compatible mags), they made changes to the upper receiver to accommodate those mags. Not only are the A and B lowers different - the A and B uppers are different. Here's the no-shiit real information on this stuff: https://armalite.com/portfolio/armalite-ar-10a-and-ar-10b-comparison/ Check ME out, gettin' my Armalite Nerd Magic on...
  7. Any kind of muffs suck with rifles, brother - they hit, and it's normal. To the opposite side of that, I'd say it's weirdly-shaped people that WOULD be able to wear muffs and still effectively shoot a rifle/shotgun... I mostly ditched squishies several years ago, and switched to Surefire earpro. The things do everything that squishies do, and add the ability to (kinda) hear normal conversation, as well as being able to plug them and seal them up for even more noise-blockage.
  8. Damn, you're definitely doing it right.
  9. Talked to Oly Arms on 27 Feb, about a pending order - wanted to check on it the day before they were set to close. They will be staying open in the near future, in order to provide small parts. Also pending is a buyout by somebody - not sure who, they didn't say, and I didn't ask. At any rate, any orders placed before they "closed" will be fulfilled. They did say that they received ALOT of orders before the 27th...
  10. I do, no kidding... Loved that place...
  11. I'm shocked at the powders listed - we're still using Varget and RL-15 to push these fat bastards! I'M. IN.
  12. Here's the info on the .308 Win 212s, but the C.O.L. listed is 3.000". Not gonna work in a mag-fed .308AR.
  13. Hornady 10 load manual changes all that. Loading 220s at 2.800 C.O.L. now. .308 Win travelling at well beyond subsonic, but helpful in suppressed use. Hornady 9 manual only listed up to 195 BTHPs loaded to 2.800 C.O.L. This new stuff changes everything. And 1:10 won't cut it as well as the (even) faster twists.
  14. Sonofabitch, Pappy!
  15. ^^^ THAT'S what I say, as well... Two with one shot. There's no such thing as "coincidence..." The other case - IF the barrel wasn't POINTED at son #2, by son #1, then... he wouldn't have been hit. Muzzle awareness.
  16. I had no idea you even knew what tears were... Heartless bastard...
  17. Oh, I tried - several times I tried. There wasn't any "listening" going on from your side, though. None. I moved on. Try to lead a horse to water, then try to make that horse drink - doesn't work. Glad you're moving forward with the project, though.
  18. That's a bit of screwy logic, or careful word-smithing on their part, that completely screws the principle of the NFA trust in the first place. Only those that are ON the trust at the time of NFA-Item Transfer (i.e., stamp-approval time) are allowed to single-possess that item. So, if I have a grand-kid, and 21 years down the road, I want to add him to my trust - he can't touch shiit by himself, even though he'd be one of the Trustees... Fucked up...
  19. Aaaaaaah, Washington this time of year - WET! And for the next 100 days! I miss that place, seriously.
  20. AWESOME, Doc!!!
  21. Here is Remington's response about that "new" 60 Minutes story, issued by Remington on 22 Feb 2017: http://www.guns.com/2017/02/22/remington-responds-to-60-minutes-story-on-the-dangers-of-the-model-700/ http://www.guns.com/2017/02/22/remingtons-response-to-60-minutes/ And, straight from the horse's mouth: https://www.remington.com/news/2017/remington-responds-60-minutes
  22. Here's the "news" that restarted all this shiit again. Aired on 60 Minutes on 19 Feb 2017. http://www.cbsnews.com/videos/the-remington-700/ http://www.cbsnews.com/news/popular-remington-700-rifle-linked-to-potentially-deadly-defects/
  23. Here's the direct link to the recall contained in that article quote in the first post in this thread: http://xmprecall.remington.com/ Now, check THIS shiit out... Open the link to the recall in THIS thread... Twins. Takes you to THE SAME PAGE... So, there is NOT a "new recall" or "another recall" on the Rem 700 or the XMP trigger...
