  1. Damn, that is awesome on several different levels. fast, inexpensive, high quality - it violates ALL the machinist's rules! <lmao>
  2. Probably not - that's the "you snooze you lose' rule. Don't really expect a high-hard-fast run on these things - they'll be on the shelves for years, for the "recoil sensitive" people. How much recoil do you really have to eat in a 5.56 or .308 AR rifle, anyway?... As soon as they make one that chops down the recoil on the Marlin 1895 45-70, I'll scoop it up in a heartbeat. Until then, though... It's just another group of moving parts that you don't need. Man up, lift weights, push cars for PT, and don't be recoil sensitive. Eat more spotted owl. Makes your dick bigger, too. <thumbsup>
  3. It's another moving part, and all moving parts have the potential for failure over time. Limit the amount of moving parts that you have, and you limit the potential for failure. My opinion is: Don't complicate schit with Complicated Schit. Stick with a solid buffer body. The "Sproing and Twang Boys" will be along shortly.
  4. ^^^^ AAAAAAND DEN! That thing runs like a swiss watch, too. I can vouch for the brake he uses. <thumbsup>
  5. And some 5FDP. :hail:
  6. I'm always on the lookout for them, too - for the same reason. :hethan: <hump>
  7. I did a 9" rail on the same barrel. The rail (mounted) is longer than the barrel. I used the AAC Single Chamber Brake. It can be a little tough to find, but Midway had it in stock for around $55. Works like a damn champ. <thumbsup>
  8. I based my comparison on the guess that: "Since it's a light single stage, I'll compare it to another light single stage." It's the Match trigger, and it's definitely an accuracy trigger. Trying to make it run fast and sizing it up to the S3G was the wrong approach. I saw right away that it's easier to be more accurate with the ELF than the S3G. I'll be picking up the ELF speed trigger in the future, and redoing the matchup.
  9. Completely different build, brother. New rifle. Snatched the barrel from Stain awhile back. <thumbsup>
  10. Hell no - he'll be a pissed off machinist all the time... <lmao> Matt, you need to talk to Greg, my brother.
  11. Smaller pieces of tungsten.
  12. We need to pin this one in a tech section, right away. Should probably go in the 308 AR - What you need to know section. I'll start looking for my information. http://forum.308ar.com/forum/65-308-ar-what-you-need-to-know/
  13. Don't be, brother - not just yet. wait 'til you get her in your hands... <lmao>
  14. ^^^ Perfect example of why I love this place so much. <thumbsup>
  15. FAT IRMA will make her debut during The 2015 Great Shouthwestern Shepp Shootfest. You guys haven't seen FAT IRMA yet, but you will love her - I guarantee that... <lmao> No pics of FAT IRMA will be published prior to the first pic, in Shepp's hands... :hethan:
  16. Roman, you will love beach's slings, man. <thumbsup>
  17. Wasn't waste tungsten, man, and it certainly wasn't free. Many crankshaft machining shops balance crankshafts, and they use tungsten for that. I had the stuff sized by them. i haven't done that since the firearms world caught on, and started offering heavier buffers. I don't do lead shot anymore, either. Just listed options for you. <thumbsup>
  18. Never happen... Welcome from AZ! <lmao>
  19. That upper is the DPMS slickside upper. I have the same one on my 9mm.
  20. Dave is an awesome guy, and makes some damn awesome products. http://www.dwilsonmfg.com/store/p18/AR10_Bolt_carrier_Group.html
  21. Hooo-leee Fuuuuuk.
  22. How about pics of that Sterling AR180, man. <thumbsup>
  23. I'm not afraid of any beaver, either - the oil-furred fuckers or others. Caveman-Smash that stuff, either variety... <thumbsup> Deer are a WHOLE other story. They need to GO. With extreme prejudice. All of them.
