  1. Call them up tomorrow and talk to them about it - they'll gladly talk to you. Give them all the rifle specifics (build stats) and firing specifics (with can, without can, temp, other weather, etc.), with rifle round count, and they should be able to shed some insight into what's going on.
  2. In some powders, to get what you want, you'll have compressed loads. It just works out that way - never "just decide" to make your own compressed loads - if you don't find a reference for a compressed load that comes from a published load data book, then don't even play with it. Always be cautious with compressed loads, and always use a published source for information - multiple published sources if you can.
  3. Nope, and I've used it - they load very good ammunition. <thumbsup>
  4. The are very, very useful in pistol-caliber ARs, because blowback-operated systems are very hard on hammer pins. I have a set in my AR45 and the 9mm AR. I have a spare set of them in the toolbox, and they'll be going to use pretty soon. I have a decent stainless steel trigger system that i did a little polishing to - it's not special, but it is a decent trigger. I've got the perfect build going on that I can use it in, but the damn thing broke the j-spring in the hammer. it won't keep a hammer pin in place to save it's life, and as soon as it starts to walk, the rifle doubles - one pull, two shots. Not good. The spare set of KNS pins will be used in that build, with that trigger, for that reason. J-springs aren't easy to find, fast to get, or easy to change. Fuk the J-spring replacement, or throwing a3way the trigger. KNS pins will save it. You better bet that if I had a registered full-auto lower, I'd have KNS pins in it, and i wouldn't run a blowback-operated AR without them. They have their place.
  5. that would make me check the gas port size, and bring it up one increment in the drill index chart. <thumbsup>
  6. Chase, that one linked is fully machined and ready to put together...
  7. I posted this one some time back. Snake vs. Snake. The Red Racer vs. The Rattlesnake. Someone got eaten. Crazy $hit happens here in the desert.
  8. When my boy was in 7th grade, I smashed his X Box to bits with a shop hammer. "Get bad grades, No X Box," is what i told him. He didn't quite know what i meant when I said it, but he fully understood when I made him clean up all the pulverized pieces and throw them in the trash.
  9. i think that "too short" and the increased chamber pressure comes from compressed loads - check your depth from case neck down to the powder level, and determine how far you can seat your projectile before you have a compressed load. Anytime you seat deeper than that, successively, you're compressing more, and increasing chamber pressure more. Also, seat a projectile in an empty case - and seat it long - much longer than magazine length. Don't crimp the case, at all. Fully chamber that round by hand. This will tell you how long you can seat it, and just hit the lands. Seat shorter than that. Your ultimate restriction is magazine length.
  10. YES!!! AWESOME NEWS!
  11. ^^^ I thought the same thing. That's what really sucks - those were already bought by somebody else...
  12. Yep - very, VERY cool!
  13. You are responsible for the replacement of my monitor... <lmao>
  14. I'm the dysfunctional part. Just in case you never noticed, mack. <thumbsup>
  15. Exactly what i was going to suggest.
  16. Lance is one VERY cool dude!!! :hethan:
  17. Rainier Arms Ultramatch 18" fluted stainless. Made on a Shilen blank. It doesn't get much better than this. http://www.rainierarms.com/rainier-arms-ultramatchtm-308-barrel-18-fluted
  18. Brother, there's nothing regular about the regular loads - that's the sick-in-the-head part... <lmao>
  19. Yep, I've got a decent plan for some tannerite shenanigans. <lmao>
  20. Alot of commercial 180 loads are too long to fit in a magazine. If they fit in the mag, then they won't be in the lands when you chamber them, and you can shoot them fine through a 1:10' twist barrel. They'll probably shoot pretty well, accuracy-wise.
  21. Drive safe, brother!!! See you soon!

    You AZ guys

I've preached that point for quite awhile now - for that very reason. ALL of them need to be on the trust, even the ones that don't fall under the NFA or GCA. ALL of them.
  23. Well SCHIT then! I'll load some steps up to the max, and take those things out with me next weekend for the meet-n-greet! The whole group can be a part of this one - on video, of course... <lmao>
  24. I had the test-fire all planned out, and the hot chick at work is all wet about firing this contraption... <lmao> BIG disappointment happening... :rant2:
