^^^ No $hit. <thumbsup>

Yeah, you need to buy that Tubb brake and mess with it. You have some pretty impressive groups, so you have the skill to tell us what that brake will do on a 308AR. You're also a Boeing machinist (former life, as stated), so you can make that exact brake for a 308AR. I couldn't find any internet reference to AKsarben on gun boards, or other boards and sites - that search comes up with a whole bunch of junk, but not other sites with discussion. Please help out with which other sites those are, 'cause I get this: https://www.google.com/#q=AKsarben

DAAAAAAAAMN!!! 9 POUNDS?!!? You need to just go ahead and het him his first rifle now - he'll be ready for it in a couple months! Based on the size of that boy (and those nuts!), you need to pick a good name. Mongo would be good, but that's one of Greg's twins. Magilla Gorilla is still available. Gigantor, as well. $hit, just name him Megatron. Congrats, brother!!!

It was mostly pointed downrange - with that great big giant booger-hook of a trigger finger buried in the trigger guard... <lmao> (except for that one time that he flagged the reporter...)

We've talked about that extensively here. There are two separate threads directly about this topic you mention. Now you did it. As a machinist at Boeing in Seattle, you have all the skills anyone would need to buy the Tubb brake, mic it all out in excruciating detail, and make your own brake just like it - with the thread pitch and diameters that you'll need for the 308 AR. Am I right?

Small Victory for Californian Gun Owners
98Z5V replied to 98Z5V's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Californian Legislators can fuk up alot of $hit in 180 days, brother - you know that well. Keep your fingers crossed - it was decided. Let's hope the decision stays, and they can't find some bull$hit reason around it. This decision right here impacts the rest of the country. -
Finally, you Cali guys get some good news. It's small, but baby steps are key throughout the battle for our firearms. Congrats, guys - once you buy, no more 10-day wait again. <thumbsup> Federal judge strikes down California gun purchase waiting period in some cases Published August 25, 2014FoxNews.com Original Article: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/08/25/federal-judge-strikes-down-california-gun-purchase-waiting-period-in-some-cases/ A federal judge in California has struck down a law that requires a 10-day waiting period for gun purchases, but only for current gun owners who have already passed a background check and those who have a permit or certificate of eligibility to own a gun. Eastern District of California Judge Anthony W. Ishii said Monday that the waiting period provision violates the Second Amendment rights of those who have already been approved to own a gun. This includes those who have previously undergone a background check and own a gun, people with concealed-carry permits and people who have a state certificate of eligibility to own a gun. First-time gun buyers would still be subject to the waiting period, which Ishii emphasized in his ruling. “Given the nature of the challenges made, the Court emphasizes that it is expressing no opinion on the constitutionality of the 10-day waiting period in general or as applied to first time California firearms purchasers,” he said. The Sacramento Bee reports Ishii stayed his ruling for 180 days in order to give California time to change the law. According to the Sacramento Bee, the law was challenged by two California gun owners and two gun rights groups. In their lawsuit against the Department of Justice and California Attorney General Kamala Harris, they argued that the 10-day waiting period was unconstitutional. “This is a great win for Second Amendment civil rights and common sense,” Jeff Silvester, one of the gun owners who was a plaintiff in the case, said in a statement. “I couldn’t be happier with how this case turned out.” The other plaintiff Brandon Combs, who is also the executive director of the Calguns Foundation, also praised the ruling. “California gun owners are not second-class citizens and the Second Amendment doesn’t protect second class rights,” Combs said. “This decision is an important step towards restoring fundamental individual liberties in the Golden State.”

I'm doing the 517, flat trigger, asking them to set it at 2.5lbs to start. <thumbsup>

I've been running the Hornady 150gr FMJ BTs at 2.090", and the 150gr SMKs at 2.125" - same charge weight of 16.1gr H110. I quit using the SMKs and only load the Hornady 150s now, and every batch I bring them out another 0.010", and check 10 from the batch on a target grouping. They're getting better thus far. They started at 2.060", cannelure all the way down to the case mouth (cases originally cut and prepped to 1.363").

You talking about ARs? Or beer?

Thanks for that lesson on how forums work. <thumbsup>

Some kind of heavy stick powder, that's for sure. What was the loaded COAL on these two rounds? Do you have any more you can measure? On that 147 load, that seems HEAVY, at 18.5 grains. My 150s are running 16.1 grains of H110 (not compressed) - that charge weight he's using is really gonna depend on the powder, too. If you have some chrono velocities and the COAL, it would be alot easier to narrow down the powder.

Most of us learned this a long time ago, and we pass this information on to the other members of this board, freely - to those that will listen. That is the very reason this board exists, in the first place.

Someone should put that 16" Match barrel in their cart, and enter the 0823 code, just to check. I was signed in at the time, so that might have been the MIL/LEO pricing on it, not a sale price with code... <dontknow>
-
You sure you're looking at the right thing? That's probably "check cashed" date there, not approval. It's kinda crazy that you got approved before most people get their check cashed...

Eh, you'll be fine in that marriage. You stumble on that in the LGS, and she gets another bad-ass .22 rifle. <lmao>
-
25~28 INCH pounds on the mount-to-scope, then 65 INCH pounds locking the mount to the rifle. Always a good rule on those specs, and it should work for every mount out there. Use a good torque wrench, something that is definitely repeatable. Make sure the scope is mounted tight before you move forward - eliminate that as a possibility first. Welcome aboard, man.

That woman in that pic is a BOFUS. She tips over, and it's gonna take BOFUS to get her back up again... <lmao>
