planeflyer21 Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 What are the lightest bullets anyone has loaded for .300 BO?
Robocop1051 Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Personally loaded? Not me But, I own some 115gr Remington UMC
392heminut Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 I've got some 110 gr. Varmaggedons loaded up.

Robocop1051 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I want to see someone load a 77gr sabot.... or even lighter!?!?! Can a 30-36gr Barnes Varmint Grenade be used in a sabot??

That was discussed a short time ago over at 300blktalk.com and it was pointed out that it was kind of redundant to try something like that. What was said was that you're trying to recreate a .223 round with a 300 blk. case so what's the point?

A less than equal .223?? There's no way you'd get the same velocity as a true .223.... It's not like when a .308 blasts out the 77gr at over 4k fps.

Robocop1051 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Still... why? To make a sub-par version of the original cartridge? The casing is so short, you wouldn't get very significant performance. Maybe, as a single shot, subsonic, rat gun, for blasting rodents in the garage.
shibiwan Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) Speaking of bullets, I was talking to the owner of Alco bullets ( http://www.alcobullets.com/ ) on Sat at the local gun show. Interesting steel or aluminum tipped bullets. He claimed extended ranges, increased ouch factor, and superior accuracy which made me wonder if these super pointy projos are worth checking out or not. To me it seems like the pointy tips will make them slice cleanly through soft tissue with reduced damage. Edited December 9, 2014 by shibiwan
survivalshop Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 Those are interesting , looks like the Barne's 110 gr. TAC Are they available ?
shibiwan Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) Those are interesting , looks like the Barne's 110 gr. TAC Are they available ? Yeah, available but really pricey. The gentleman was also interested in getting some CNC work done so let see if he bites and ask to see if I can get them at wholesale pricing.... Edited December 10, 2014 by shibiwan
planeflyer21 Posted December 10, 2014 Author Report Posted December 10, 2014 WHY?! Why supe up a go-kart engine? Why convert a diesel to burn french fry grease? Because we're DUDES!! It's what we do! Now shutup and figure out how to get a Beeman Power Point into a sabot in a .300 BO.
shibiwan Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 (edited) Why soup up a go-kart engine when you can soup up a rocket engine and make the sabot hit 4000+ fps? ...308 sabot would be f*ing awesome. Like this guy from SSA Edited December 10, 2014 by shibiwan

These bullets must qualify as an armor piercing design , I even tried the Aluminum tips . I guess I'll have to call & find out WTF is up. Edited December 11, 2014 by survivalshop
shibiwan Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 What , we have to watch his toe nail rot & fall off now . <laughs> Did I mention I once ripped off the big toenail off my wife's foot while breaking the toe at the same time? The toenail ended up standing straight up and there was blood everywhere.
survivalshop Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 PIcs, or it didn't happen... <lmao> Ya , no cheating us on our fetish's <thumbsup>
