blue109 Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 I heard they are programmed to home in on "dont tread on me" shirts and 30rd magazines.
blue109 Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 Depends on what sector jade helm is working.
planeflyer21 Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 Depends on what sector jade helm is working. I heard they are programmed to home in on "dont tread on me" shirts and 30rd magazines. That would be the border states.
blue109 Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 :D The hoodie seeking bullets were sent to the east coast AO
Sisco Posted May 1, 2015 Author Report Posted May 1, 2015 I am trying to figure out if they use infrared technology or a millimeter wave sensor. I am guessing a wave sensor as that technology has been researched quite throughly to develop smart antiarmor munitions that upon explosion, forge their own armor penetrating fragments and point them at individual targets in the area of detonation.
LeatherNuts Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 Shouldn't be in the things for 98 to buy thread? Or at least the Rule should apply.
MikedaddyH Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 Shouldn't be in the things for 98 to buy thread? Or at least the Rule should apply.Absolutely Not ! DARPA is close to R2's home, it should be in his must buy thread. Yeah we haven't forgotten ,Ron !
Sisco Posted May 2, 2015 Author Report Posted May 2, 2015 When you figure out how to buy from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, let me know, they have all sorts of interesting (and classified) stuff!
Malig8r Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 C'mon fellas...this is OLD NEWS...didn't you ever see the movie: Runaway with Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons? <lmao>
Sisco Posted May 3, 2015 Author Report Posted May 3, 2015 Now instead of science fiction, its coming to a battlefield near you.
Rsquared Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) Absolutely Not ! DARPA is close to R2's home, it should be in his must buy thread. Yeah we haven't forgotten ,Ron ! Dammit! I here I thought that I was flyin low. Guess I better start saving up for some of the fancy DARPA stuff. <laughs> Edited May 4, 2015 by Rsquared
98Z5V Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Miniature J-DAMS, for individual targets. I LOVE IT! :hethan:
ChaseFan9 Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 It's pretty sweet, but I'm pretty sure they had a segment on Future Weapons or something on the subject several years ago. Let me know the day DARPA starts sending out catalogs, they've got some crazy-badass schitt hidden away in that ever-expanding budget of theirs

For grenades, from a grenade launcher. Not for bullets. Airburst, above the target, in which the target was in defilade. Edited May 5, 2015 by 98Z5V

I think that was '08 or '09, the one I'm thinking of might be older than that. It's more or less what you described; a portable (small arms), non-explosive JDAM, guided by lasers or GPS or something. I'll post a link when I find it, that article's got to still be out there. Somewhere....
ChaseFan9 Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 I hate to bring up an old thread, but I found the article. Sub MOA at 1k+ yds, regardless of wind. http://www.accurateshooter.com/technical-articles/laser-guided-bullet-from-sandia-labs/
