RRA barrel, PA10 upper, what Bcg?

I bought an 18" X series fluted RRA barrel to put in my budget build pa10. The barrel is a "dpms" pattern as is the PA10(sorta). Is there a normal length Bcg that would mate with the RRA barrel extension and work? I would have it headspaced to be sure. I really don't want to have to use the oddball long RRA Bcg, charge handle, short buffer etc. ideas? Thanks!!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, BUT ! Mixing parts like that is asking for troubles and headaches !

Barrel and bolt must be the same. Please get it Headspaced. Borrow a set or take it to a gunsmith.

Stick with all RRA parts or All DPMS parts. Someone will chime in and tell you to start selling the oddball parts. Upper and lower should be the same.

Well, thanks Mike. As stated in my original post I would definitely check the headspace. I guess my question should have been this...

The RRA barrel fits the Pa10 upper. If I run a RRA bolt, and a dpms style carrier... I would have RRA bolt and barrel. But then again, I might sell this barrel and just matching everything. Thanks guys.

Just use the DPMS bolt and carrier.

I'v got a RRA that was complete RRA, except the bbl.   Checked the headspace and was good to go!

Its got @300 rounds through it, no problems!

No matter WHAT the mfg say, except for the carrier and bolt catch, parts are interchangable.  I know, I' done it.

No matter what brand, ALWAYS check headspace!

Repectfully

 Terry

PA 10 & RRA have or use some proprietary components for their rifles  or should I say , don't play well with other DPMS type receivers , so your on a R&D ( research & Development ) build .

Trippledeuce has said his works , but he has different components involved . Pick a BCG (  As said , as long as the Bolt Head Spaces correctly )  , you have to start some where , might work just fine .

PA 10 & RRA are two of the manufacturers that drifted away from the Armalite AR 10 & DPMS formats & have some proprietary components , but I agree , we all wish there would be a MilSpec std. for 308 AR's as there is for the little brother AR15/M16/M4.

At least Armalite is drifting towards the DPMS , with its newer model accepting Pmags , pretty soon the name will be the only difference . Take that you Armalite pushers ?

Maybe the out of the box accuracy, reliability, and durability of the Armalite AR-10?

You sound like one of their ad campaigns. ??

We all know the AR 10 is the best rifle ever made & no one has ever had a problem with one & every DPMS LR 308 has a bad barrel & the Bolt breaks after 100 rounds & none shoot less then a 10" MOA , ever . LMAO

Anybody have a guess if an LR25 mag would feed into this funky RRA feed ramp?

Only way to find out , is to try on. I don't know what Mags will or will not work in an RRA rifle , Others here will , I'm sure .

Hey! Hey! Hey!  Now what did I do to you? I was over here minding my own business for once. laughing

Yes, I was making a funny. I don't drink anyones Koolaide .

I don't have a fish in this barrel , they are all good to me , mass production & production numbers will determine the amount of problems & returns with anything .
