D.R.D. Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 I'm looking for a mid-range hard case that can accommodate a 308AR (~38" long) as well as a second complete upper that's about the same length. I've got shorter Plano cases for my AR15, and they work great. I was looking at this one, but not sure both the full scoped-rifle plus the second upper will fit. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029KDHQI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1F8EFV7SLH2Y8&coliid=I2L6WZ9ECXOX5M http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000P583SQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1F8EFV7SLH2Y8&coliid=I7F32QJOMQ3FP
sketch Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) Im a fan of soft cases they fit better in tight spaces. I like the vodoo bags with 2 gun compacity in a backpack option.. With mag pouches . I also have some allen soft cases for a desent price range? Hard case and a smaller compartment (hatch) dosnt work well with others? Also my reasoning for soft case they dont take up much room empty? I have 4 hard cases collecting dust! I wonder if i have shits in them i should be using..? Edited March 28, 2016 by sketch Shits
D.R.D. Posted March 28, 2016 Author Report Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks, but I need a hard case for my specific situation.

A 1720 should meet your 38" requirement with a 42" interior. http://www.lapolicegear.com/pe17ca1.html?gclid=CIG-5fKQ48sCFQdqfgod6cUBnQ I recently added some kaizen foam inserts to my 1750. I cut different inserts with a home made hot wire cutter so I can have lots of configurations with one case
82HALO Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 +1 Pelican!! http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/pelican-double-rifle-case?a=533969 http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/pelican-1720-gun-case?a=1552123
jtallen83 Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Plano now makes a good option in their all weather line, I have one and it is right there with the Pelican for much less money; http://www.planomolding.com/tactical/all-weathertm-cases/108192 For a bit more they have a Mil-Spec version; http://www.planomolding.com/tactical/field-lockertm-mil-spec-cases/109501 Both do very well in comparison reviews.
82HALO Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Don't see anything about their warranty. Pelican is life time no questions asked, breaks they replace it!
jtallen83 Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Plano is not as clear as they should be but basically if "LIF" appears in the UPC then it is covered for life. Here is a basic review of several brands of cases; http://www.petersenshunting.com/gear-accessories/case-study-best-hard-rifle-cases-right-now/
blue109 Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 Botach tactical has had some great deals on pelican cases lately. As always with botach, order at your own risk. They have a rep.

blue109 Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 I've gotten about 95% of the stuff I've ordered from them lol. Sometimes they post a deal too good to ignore. I just always plan on a refund so I'm happy if it actually shipps and not overly disappointed if it doesn't.
shepp Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 I got pissedat them when the "customer service" lady couldn't figure out why I wouldn't give her my credit card info over the phone because I couldn't pay for mags with pay pal. I even told her I'd had my info stolen to much and I didn't wanna risk it....
82HALO Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 I also used Pelican cases for my scuba and uunderwater camera equipment that traveled all over the world! Never had to worry about it!

It is a Mastercard linked to your PayPal balance and has to be accepted everywhere Mastercard is. I have bought 4 or 5 guns with mine and have never been questioned. Try that with your standard PayPal account and they will lock it. Get the debit Mastercard if you do not want another credit card.
