Welcome from Pennsylvania!

Make sure you use a barrel vise, some have used the receiver vise and lessened the barrel from the extension! May need to be heated.

Finally got that flash hider off, holy crap, soaked it for 2 days, tried the pipe wrench again with no results, put a little acetone on it, let it set an hour, then used a pry bar about 30 inches long an it almost jump off, amazing, barely put any torque on it at all.

What do you reckon they did?

Used some good Gorilla superglue on the flash holder?

DPMS said they used Backstop on it, its water soluble, but heat resistant. It wasn't gonna fall off, thats for sure!

Well How about that, , Backstop, Eh? . Never ever done heard about Backstop, I just used Loc-Tite on threads. I reckon I really am behind the times.  where do you get it from?

When I need to dissolve stubborn chemical adhesives I reach for the 81m-WfFgIUL._SL1500_.jpg Just be careful and don't get it in your good eyeball or even your face, wear rubber gloves, a face shield or goggles when spraying it,  It permanently fogged up a good pair of safety goggles for me.

Crud in a Carb or throttle body isn't the only thing it will dissolve, melt, or remove, it contains Tolulene, acetone and some other powerful solvents.
