beantown
Aren't there a bunch of Jaguars just across the border in Mexico? I saw a show on it not long ago. The cattle ranchers kept seeing them.
GRA
I've been told they occasionally come in from Mexico a lot like the Mexican gray wolf. They are magnificent critters for sure.

As a kid, the Sonoran Desert Museum (a zoo with all the wildlife in the Sonoran desert) had a Mexican red wolf display that was empty, with a big sign that said "EXTINCT" in front of it. Now there is one on display. So much for extinction being permanent.

I got an e-mail yesterday from some group sending out a petition to save the Mexican gray wolf. Obviously this is distinctive from the red wolves, which are also endangered here in the USA now. They even had some photos in the e-mail of the wolves they were referring to.

That demo they used to do at the San Diego Zoo, with the spotted leopard. Had it jump UP onto a ledge to fetch a chunk of meat, 20' up from the ground. DNP
Good. Wanted to be sure we'll still see them on this side of the border after the Make America Great Wall goes up.
