new to this board, stuck in the Former Cradle of Liberty known as Mass

Hey everyone, new on here(been on various other boards). Found this forum due to the Matrix section. My friend and I picked up sets from a group buy on a NE area gun board I'm on(anyone from NES? I have the same username here). 43, married with 3 kids and stuck in Mass(for now), building my first AR10 most likely in 6.5 Creedmor.

To avoid parts confusion remember you do not have an AR 10, that is an Armalite platform. You have a 308AR, both my Matrix receivers are DPMS high when it comes to rail fitment. My early Matrix has the Armalite thread pattern but I think they have all been DPMS pattern for a few years now.

Thanks! That's actually what bought me here. I know it's a DPMS high, and I messaged Matrix and they told me I had an Armalite A upper(we had our group buy a few years ago, so probably before they switched) but I've also read that if you use a DPMS bolt/bcg and barrel(with the Armalite barrel nut) that it could be switched over? Since there's a lot more DPMS style barrels etc. it would clearly open the options. I just want to make sure before I start buying stuff.

Thanks! I have an uncle that moved from here to Austin in the 70s. I went down once but that was when I was like 12

I run a DPMS pattern BCG and barrel in both mine. Only issue will be finding a rail with the barrel nut using the Armalite thread pattern if that is what it is. I got lucky and a buddy had a used MI rail with both nuts.

The pivot and takedown pins are a little different in length as well, if it is the same as my first set. I got the LPK from Live Free Armory, he used to sell Matrix. CDNN has bolt catches for the Sig 716 that work great in my Matrix and they are cheap.

Ok good, I'd like to get a Dracos barrel when they have blems again(lifetime warranty) and they're DPMS style. Kinda pissed I didn't check them on cyber Monday, their barrels were like 125 or something
