I think I need something "low profile" to fit inside handguards. And for a 16" 338 federal, will a 10" length handguard be too short? Should I go with 12" or 15" instead? Of course I can't recall the appropriate size blocks for the barrels... 10" rail oughta work just fine with that barrel - the rail will still cover the 9" midlength gas system. Gas block diameter will need to be 0.750". Here's mine with an 11" rail:
RobPLSCA Posted January 25, 2019 Report Posted January 25, 2019 I talked to a nice lady from Wilson today. Figured out the barrel delay. Great customer service!
98Z5V Posted January 27, 2019 Report Posted January 27, 2019 NICE!!! Get that thing naked already and get the pics up!!!!
RobPLSCA Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 OK - how about one of these? Superlative Arms .875" Adjustable Gas Block, Bleed Off - Solid, Stainless Steel, Matte Finish
98Z5V Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Oh shiit - what did you buy that needs the .875" gas block?...
RobPLSCA Posted February 1, 2019 Report Posted February 1, 2019 A stout barrel from Wilson Combat... ?

RobPLSCA Posted February 1, 2019 Report Posted February 1, 2019 Yeah, that's the one! ? In 6.5 Creedmoor, SS fluted satin finish. The 338 Federal is a 16" SS fluted, but I don't recall which model they had available so I have not ordered the gas block for that one. It may also be big diameter.

RobPLSCA Posted February 6, 2019 Report Posted February 6, 2019 I know, I know... without photos, it didn't happen... Here they are... Still in the shipping tubes...
98Z5V Posted February 6, 2019 Report Posted February 6, 2019 I know that sight well - they make beautiful, ACCURATE barrels. Well done, brother.

Chuck Plissken Posted February 7, 2019 Report Posted February 7, 2019 Great trigger for the cash. I have a older geissele 4.5lb trigger and the Larue is a bit crisper than the geissele. Good buy.
Armed Eye Doc Posted February 7, 2019 Report Posted February 7, 2019 They are great triggers. I think I am up to 5 or 6 of them.
RobPLSCA Posted February 10, 2019 Report Posted February 10, 2019 Ok, now both Superlative Arms adjustabls gas blocks are here. .750 for the 16" 338 federal and .875 for the 20" 6.5 Creedmoor (Wilson Combat barrels). I got a regular block with the 18" 308 barrel from BA. I am pretty close to having all the parts now. Sunday should be bin sorting day.
DNP Posted February 10, 2019 Author Report Posted February 10, 2019 So what's the plan? Time to go on any of these?
98Z5V Posted February 11, 2019 Report Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) Yep, I need to pack up tools and head to DNPs place for the weekend. I have every other weekend off - the between weekends, i work Saturdays 9~1. EDIT - This just hit me - head over here for the Spring Shoot. We build them all, and break them in right then... DNP Posted February 11, 2019 Author Report Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) Now you're just trying to get out of a drive over to CA. Which isn't a horrible thing. It's a little cold at the ranch right now. Grounds smoked themselves in the trailer somehow. I've got them wire nutted together and can run the power, but I need to throw a new bus in this weekend. RobPLSCA Posted February 12, 2019 Report Posted February 12, 2019 Are there any electricians on this forum? It looks to me like all those wires are cooked and need replacement. 12 hours ago, DNP said: Grounds smoked themselves in the trailer somehow.
