Albroswift
Really like the "No gas block" profile of the blowback carbine. Property taxes due EOM 😦 build fund taking a hit. After I recuperate from that hopefully on to the 458 build.

Albroswift
Range Report. Other then a couple minor issues shot well EXCEPT: Trigger didn't work properly. Need to engage and disengage safety after every shot. IF the BCG was operated with the charging handle, trigger worked. IF I held the trigger in fire, operated the charging handle, trigger would lock in the disconnector catch, wouldn't release to the sear catch. I think I'm explaining right. Took a while to figure this out. When shooting, the hammer would catch on the disconnector, when the trigger was released, the hammer didn't spring up to the sear. Had a radian talon ambi 45 deg, changed to 90 deg, changed out completely with a mil spec safety. When seperated from upper, hold trigger push down on the hammer it would lock on disconnector and not release. Anyway, trigger is the ALG Defense Quality Mil Spec Trigger - QMS from Primary arms. $50.00 Cheapo Anderson in the other one, Same Radian ambi safety, receivers identical sequential serial numbers. Guess I'll try another Anderson. I would have swapped out at the range but didn't want to mess with the anti-walk pins.
Albroswift
Took it apart, inspected, put it back in. Functions correctly. Think either there was a little piece of?? under it or maybe one leg of the spring was mis positioned. Good thing, I like the trigger really breaks clean for 50 bucks. Maybe get back to the range tomorrow
Albroswift
"Pistol or rifle?" Carbine. Tromix 14.5 barrel with birdcage pinned and welded. Edited April 13, 2019 by Albroswift

Albroswift
Another Range Report Rifle and trigger behaved, 10 oz buffer worked well, had some mag issues. The $12.00 cheapos work flawlessly, older stock glock mags were tempramental. It appears the followers in the cheapos are a faithful copy of the Glock #10, I have what appear to be "Old Style" in the rest of my mags. (Go figure, bought them all prior to Clinton's ban) Anyway, everything rocking so had a chance to get some chrono-radar data. IPSC loads, 180 RNFP that run just under 1000 fps in the limited gun My "Hot" 180 RNFP, all over the place. Maybe just pushing too hard, but my theory is the chamber has a little to much freebore for the slower powder. 10mm mag velocities. Law Dog 155 gr hollow points. Yowza! Albroswift
Note: The Winchester Ranger off the Winchester Website shows 1210 FPS out of a 4" Barrel. Gained almost 300 FPS out of the 16" barrel. 10MM Mag velocities. Like to know what powder they use!

sketch
we have a sheriff stop by regularly. he glasses from his rig for idiots! I set up cones so someone doesn't drive in to a shooting range. I've left early due to heavy traffick and limited space! it usta be 2 maybe 3 shooter.. now its 15. thats where a range comes in handy! A range has rules though. i cant see how fast i can spend my money.. Edited April 15, 2019 by sketch good shits!a
Albroswift
I have to drive 2 hrs to get to a good pit, but we're the only ones there. We make a day of it, coolers, lawn chairs and folding tables. Range is 10 minutes from the house, 50 yard pistol and 200 yard rifle, but yea, rules... sketch
40 min drive but its the only pit still available.. and now kinda regulated.. its public but blm property. it usa be the off road mecka untill the water shed greenies stepped in. no more off road. I gotta say its not much of a dump site to shoot at an endangered washer or dryer but it's still a free for all.. local kidds respect my cones or the get an ear full! Albroswift
We have one up north of here we call the "Sultan Dump and Shoot" but gets pretty crowded with all the dumping and shooting and 2 or 3 trail heads in the same area. 392heminut
Dammit Albroswift, you got me jonesing for a .40 S&W carbine now! I just got done building a 9mm! 😠 I built the 9mm because I got the wife started shooting an M&P 9mm in Carry Optics Division in USPSA and figured what the hell, might as well have an AR in 9mm too. I shoulda known the .40 bug would bite me though, I shoot an STI 2011 hicap in .40 in USPSA Limited and just recently bought an STI Trojan 1911 in .40. I broke the news to my wife and she's a bit undewhelmed to say the least!
Albroswift
All you need is to build is the upper, use your 9mm lower and save a few bucks to start. Joe Bobs still has the KVP barrels for $79.00, (I have 3 so far) The Stern Defense BCG has been solid for me, $143.00 (2 so far). Mill spec uppers are dirt cheap, even the dedicated ones with LRBHO are only a little over $100. Ebay for a handguard and nut, $20-$30, There you go! $350 or so plus optics and lead! Albroswift
Upped the ante had 180 Cabelas bucks and a 25$$ gift card left over from Christmas, pretty much covered a VMX3-T without raiding the tax fund. Nice optic as you would expect from Vortex.
