Canadian police shooting... with a twist

So police get a call(2 AM) that someone with a knife in a strip mall is threatening/trying to rob people. As the cop car pulls up the suspect pulls out a gun and takes a shot at the police, then shoots himself.

RCMP say the province's police watchdog is investigating an incident in Surrey, B.C., that led to one man being seriously injured during an alleged attempted robbery.

Officers were called to a business in the 15900-block of the Fraser Highway just after 2 a.m. PT Thursday, where, according to the caller, a man was trying to rob people at knife-point, according to an RCMP statement.

When police arrived at the scene, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at an officer who was still seated in a police vehicle, it said.

The suspect then shot himself, the statement said, and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The officer who was shot at was not injured.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. was notified and is now investigating what role, if any, the officer's involvement played in the suspect turning the gun on himself.

1. Politically driven bullshit. Has no bearing on end result, which was statistically shown to be pre planned.

2. Society is doomed if this pandering continues

I sure hope they make that officer ride the desk for a while. How dare he just show up like that to a location he was called to....They should have tried to make contact with the alleged assailant first. He deserved written notice at least two weeks prior to contact so he could mentally prepare for the situation. It’s an incredibly threatening feeling to have an officer show up unannounced while you’re trying to stab people. The trauma caused just by seeing that officer will haunt him long after his self inflicted gunshot wound has healed. Truly a sad story.  What has this world come to where the police believe they can just “show up” any time they’re called?
This was obviously another case of President Trump’s racist policies. I know the article doesn’t mention race, and wasn’t even in the US, but we know for a fact that Trump is such an incompetent fool and a clown, yet he controls anything bad that happens on this planet. I sure hope Biden and Harris win....even Canada will be safer after the election.

You Canadians need to get yourselves a Real constitution like we have down here. No, no. Not that old thing that protects the citizens from their government. Our new unwritten one that protects our criminals. Criminals are people too, don’t ya know.

Well we do need a real constitution not the piece of political pandering crap we got stuck with in 1982... yes 1982. One of the things I admire about the fore thought of your founding fathers is the system of checks and balances between the President,Congress and Senate.

Our constitution was written by a government already in power with a strong federal central government leaning and not so much on individual rights.

UPDATE

scource- https://bc.ctvnews.ca/police-not-to-blame-in-shooting-death-of-surrey-teenager-watchdog-says-1.5149027

Highlights-

A watchdog investigation has determined police were not involved in the recent shooting death of 17-year-old Jackson Diggle.

But the watchdog concluded the teenager's death was "not the result of any actions or inaction by police."

"Before the vehicle came to a stop, the young man fired two shots, both of which struck the front of the police SUV," the watchdog said in a news release. "Immediately after firing at the police vehicle, the video then shows that the youth turned the gun on himself."

The most curious sentence

It's unclear whether an actual robbery took place, but the IIO said it was Diggle who called and filed the police report.
