Starrett Automatic Center Punch

I got tired of trying to hold the gun steady, hold the punch in the right place and hammer it squarely to stake the castle nut. The Starrett Auto Punch #18C makes the job seem like childs play. I wish I had purchased one long ago...

Got a few of those tools, couple are Starrett, they are the Cadillac for sure. Used one of the self centering punches for years installing exit doors and bathroom stalls.

I swear by them.  Have two in the gun-toolbox, and another two at work.  They get used all the time, for all kinds of things.  Main purpose is marking drill locations before drilling holes in steel.

Or popping a window in an emergency.
