Stripped the wood after taking stock and handgaurds off.Then put 3 coats of Minwax poly indoor-outdoor.Hit it with 220 grit after first 2,then 300 on last.

Blasphemey! No, no, no. You ruined it. Better send it to me for rehab and TLC as it will never be right now. BLO or Tung oil, man.

This wasn't the original stock.It didn't have the stamp [cartouch] spelling could be wrong.I heard about the Tung oil but I treated it like wood and having used that poly blend before pic doesn't do it justice on how the woodgrain showed through.I can tottaly understand the emotion guys.Fulton had a camo stock.Had I got that it would have gotten the oil.This route was less than twenty bucks for supplies.

Even when I looked at the M1 Garand for the first time I realized what was going to happen and used the blade of my loading hand to keep the op rod/bolt back and prevented self from Garand thumb!  NOOBS!
