HDWarlord Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 How about this! And the DAO New Agent for a backup. http://www.coltsmfg.com/Catalog/ColtPistols/ColtNewAgentSeries.aspx
Robocop1051 Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 HD thanks for the heads up. Colt kind of pissed me off with this one. Why make a featureless pistol? Why DAO? Why not DA/SA? No Trijicon sights? Why the Government model only?If this were all steel, commander size, DA/SA with a rail... I'd be standing at the gun counter with cash (and Trijicon sights) in hand.
6132expert Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 I just don't see aluminum holding up to several 1000s of rounds with little to no wear. IMO they went cheep and some filks will eat up the name.
Robocop1051 Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Posted July 21, 2012 I just pulled the trigger on the sale. I just bought the Sig P220 Carry Elite Stainless. It cut heavily into my AR funds... but I needed something different for work.I'll keep you all informed

6132expert Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 I tell you what for as long as I can remember I have heard nothing but good about Sig and in the past few months I have really become a huge fan of Sig. I really am wantong me a P229 in 357 but that will have to wait until I get a reloading set up which is my next investment!
Robocop1051 Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Posted July 21, 2012 I've been shooting a P226 .40 for ten years now. I think I'm ready for an upgrade.
planeflyer21 Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 I have only heard of one SIG issue...and it was a P220 Carry. One of our other instructors for SAFE had one, which was his daily carry. One day at the range, at around the total round count of 800 it quit firing. No dimple on the primers, firing pin appeared to be intact. He took it back to the shop, who stripped it down and found nothing wrong, did a thorough cleaning, and put it back together. It now fires flawlessy. But he has that little nagging in the back of his head.Jon
6132expert Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 But he has that little nagging in the back of his head. The only nagging in the back of my head from time to time is my wife saying " do you really need that" or " if you really think you have to have it" or" no, no, no not until I get my stair case finished".Then I always say ok baby I will get to it as soon as I get this or that..lol I still have to get it done.
planeflyer21 Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 <lmao> <thumbsup>The longer you drag it out, the greater the reward when you finish it!Jon
6132expert Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 <lmao> <thumbsup>The longer you drag it out, the greater the reward when you finish it!JonMy reward will come when the kids are grown ( the 2 older ones anyways ) and I get all the upstairs to be a man cave with a Dillon 1050.
weaponizer Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 My reward will come when the kids are grown ( the 2 older ones anyways ) and I get all the upstairs to be a man cave with a Dillon 1050.I started before my kid was born, i didn't want to wait 20 years... <laughs>
6132expert Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 I'm going to start before they are grown and gone but it won't be with a 1050.
unforgiven Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 Taht's a nice setup brother weaponizer, they grow up but never REALLY go away they are either broke or hungry. :o <laughs>
392heminut Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Weaponizer, I see you have an old Lyman turret press. That is the press I started out with when I started reloading, and I still have mine. Other than mine, I haven't seen one of those in years! I would hate to try and guess how many times I've cranked that handle up & down. Those things are as tough as an anvil.

At that time i didn't know anyone who reloaded so i read, read, and read, by the time i actually loaded my first round (45ACP) i had read so much that i was scared that i was going to blow up myself and the gun lol...
planeflyer21 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Yes, brother heminut, thats the press i started with that i bought in 1973!! That statement right there is the Numero Uno reason that people don't want to get into reloading...me included.Funny...tell people "All you have to do is pay attention to what you are doing and double and triple check everything," and they look at you like "Nope! That thar ain't worth it!"Jon

Team Helotes Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 When I first started I blew my 45. It was a good learning experience for me.
