MtnMike
Now that stamps are $0.00 and supposedly wait times are minimal, I am contemplating getting a threaded suppressor, which I can use on various .308s I have. Both AR, and bolt actions. I've only previously bought one other suppressor, which was for a .22. That was a few years ago through Silencer Central. I gather they have been on the wrong side of the political fights around NFA stamps. And, I wasn't all that impressed with their silencer for the price. The main attributes I want are good sound suppression, low weight and something I can just disassemble and through in an ultrasonic cleaner for maintenance. Wondering if you guys had any recommendations.
Madhouse
Man, I run the Advanced Armament 762-SDN on my AR-10 and I've used it on my 300 BLK bolt action as well. Not super light, so it wouldn't meet your ask there, but great suppression and it's a QD mount which I really dig. https://advanced-armament.com/shop/silencers/762-sdn-6/
Madhouse
And I'm going to move this to the Class III forum.
shooterrex
Picked up a Whitt Machine Dirty 30. Might be hearing safe buy in no way quiet on 300bo w/subs. Haven't tried it on 308 or 300 Win mag but not impressed.
Madhouse
My Ruger American Rifle bolt action running the 200gr subs in 300 blk is much more quiet than open muzzle.
shooterrex
My 300BO pistol is not as loud as unsuppressed but it is still pretty loud. The Dirty 30 does make a difference but I think I would be better using my 20ga Shockwave in the house noise wise. My ears are deaf enough already. MtnMike
I'd love to be able to get a .308 to hearing safe without having to wear hearing protection. Primarily for hunting reasons. I've also been told at the local rifle range that my AR with a muzzle break is a "f@#$ing cannon". I'd rather no be "that guy". Then again, most of the lighter weight titanium models I've perused are around $800-$1500. Hard to justify that kind of expense, when my ProEars pretty much already address the hunting issue and 90% of my shooting is on private land. Especially, if they are not that effective. shooterrex
The Dirty 30 isn't the best but it was only $250. I am looking for a better can. It does cut down on the muzzle blast to the sides a lot.

98Z5V
I've heard nothing but badass things about the AB Suppresors, brother.
shooterrex
The reviews I saw were pretty good. $500 is better than a thousand in my budget.
MtnMike
Specs look good! Let me know your thoughts once you get the chance to play around with it a bit. Are you direct threading or using a QD mount?
shooterrex
Direct thread to start. It is also designed to QD just haven't decided which QD system to pick. Going to swap it between 300BO, 300 Win mag, 308, 6.5 Grendel, and 6.5 Creedmoor.
Rsquared
I went down the AAC route years ago. So I've set up just about all of my rifles with their QD muzzle devices. From 5.56 to 7.62 across the board. The 300BO is by far the quietest. It's just too funny because it's "hollywood" quiet. All you really hear is the action of the rifle and the thump of the round hitting the berm, or the "ting" of the round hitting the metal plate. 7.62 on the other hand. You can get it so it's hearing safe with a decent can. But that's about it. There's always gonna be some kind of "crack" as the round pops off.
