EasyEJL Posted April 24, 2013 Author Report Share Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) Well, its definitely going to be 16 or shorter. Even down to 10 would be ok. Mostly thinking 12 since I can free float a handguard full barrel length easily. This one is going to be just a "play" rifle, short range target and no other particular planned use. So i'd rather have it smaller/lighter as I'm not looking for extended accuracy I could do it as a pistol as well rather than the carbine stock. Just hoping to find a used, blemished, something like that to keep the cost low. That rail used to be a Midwest 10" SS rail, and I cut it down to about 8.5". The KX3 was inside it, as a 10", by about 1/4". CHOPPED! <laughs> If you run something in the 7~8" range, run a KX3 on it. I figure I'll just keep hunting and see what I can find between now and the end of the year. The lower won't be ready till the end of June at soonest anyhow, and I need to start shooting the 308.
