The government's recent interest in purchasing truckloads of ammunition "for target practice" mirrors parallel developments in a number of agencies, which are being 'police-ified'. So, for instance, IRS agents and Social Security officials are now training with firearms and have been given police powers of arrest, detention, and -- shooting people.

These people are given access to vehicles bearing the word "Police" but bear no other indication of whose agency or jurisdiction is involved.

So, that might have been an IRS vehicle you saw, speeding after a tax-dodger. Or it might have been some guys with Social Security, in a hurry to track down whoever stole grandma's monthly check.

So, shepp, your intuition that it was 'federal police' is pretty accurate.

It was labeled as such on the side, I was thinking about calling the number and asking if they were able to endanger the publics life for no reason

Out of curiosity I Google searched that phone number and the first result is the DHS website...

When I saw the truck the first thing in my head that popped up was DHS :)

Call the number. It's their information line from what it looks like. Maybe they'll tell you all about themselves. Can't think of any other reason to have the phone number on the back of the rig...

They are the police on Federal Facilities and GSA Buildings. They have been around a while.

^^^^^^^ They basically are Federal Security Guards that are in charge of GSA / Federal Office Building Security. They travel to and from the different properties and thats it nothing special or spectacular.

It is the federal gravity police.

Just another glorified wannabe renta cop on the federal level showing off. Just like the TSA packed with high school dropouts. They have NO jurisdiction other than running the metal detector in federal buildings

Those "glorified wannabe renta cops" have all the .40 S&W JHP they could possibly shoot in a lifetime.
