Also just after sunset, look in the southwest and you'll be able to see Venus and Jupiter. While looking at a moon, if you have a nice telescope, you should be able to make out Neptune as a blue dot about 8 o'clock from the moon just at it rises on the east.

Too bad the weather down here isn't conducive to regular viewing. BTW, there's Comet Ison coming naked-eye visible in October.
