Actually I think I figured out the real manufacturer, Sightmark

http://www.sightmark.com/sm13024.html

can get them for right about $400 on other sites. Still hard to believe for 3-30x magnification. But it seems like it really is a 1-3 that also has an internal flip in 10x that takes it to 10-20-30x . at least that's the way the description sort of reads. If it really is a smooth flow from 3-30, I think I will cough up the $400 to try it. Well, when I have $400 that is :)

I'll have to see if I can find it for sale someplace that has a 30 day no hassle return policy. At least if it sucks that bad then I can just send it back quick.

Id thin if 3-30x was feasible while keeping the clarity at an acceptable level....the proven manufacturers would all have one for sale. Optics are an exercise in tradeoffs. You really caNT have everything, and you certainly can't have it for $400. Id spent that cash on a nice Nikon or Burris.

You can get a very nice Nikon for $450.
