Madhouse Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Have you guys seen this process? It looks pretty freaking wild, check it out on youtube. A buddy of mine is getting into it, saw his shotgun forend he did, looks awesome. He's been trying it on a bunch of things, and it's working out very well. I'm giving him some AR parts to dip, I'll post pics when they're done.
shibiwan Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Yeah, I had watched several videos on it last week... looks too easy. I want to try it and I know I'll screw it up if I do. LOL
shepp Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I've got a friend who does it yet to get anything done, he wants to do my .308 but I like it blck

Madhouse Posted April 9, 2014 Author Report Posted April 9, 2014 Got all the pieces ready for dipping, upper, lower, grip, foregrip, buttstock...
Microgunner Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 I've thought about trying it but I'm afraid that whatever I choose will look like a fad past it's expiration date in ten years. I stick with basic black, stainless or nickel, depending on the firearm.
Madhouse Posted April 9, 2014 Author Report Posted April 9, 2014 Yeah, this is just one that I was building, don't really care about it. And I think it's pretty easy to remove too, and reapply something new. I'll post pics when it's finished.

I stick with basic black, stainless or nickel, depending on the firearm. I don't like the skulls and all the designs I think that is all a fad, however camo never dies I'd like to do a camo pattern
Madhouse Posted April 9, 2014 Author Report Posted April 9, 2014 Then avert your eyes buddy, cause I'm doing skulls. :-)
shepp Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Then avert your eyes buddy, cause I'm doing skulls. :-) Your rifle your choice:) I think some look cool just not my thing.
Microgunner Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Then avert your eyes buddy, cause I'm doing skulls. :-) Just don't shoot anyone with it. A skull dip job wouldn't bode well in a courtroom.
Madhouse Posted April 23, 2014 Author Report Posted April 23, 2014 I sent the parts over to my buddy, upper, lower, grip, stock and hand guards. I'll post pics when I get it back and complete the build.
Madhouse Posted April 23, 2014 Author Report Posted April 23, 2014 Unsure at this time. He is just getting setup now. Once he has a bunch of projects under his belt he will post prices on his website. He is also getting a gunsmithing ffl so he can receive and send firearms.
Madhouse Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 So, my buddy is done dipping my parts. He had some issues with his first tank, so this has taken a while. I gave him $25 for his materials, but he wouldn't take payment. Keep in mind, I'll probably just keep this look for fun, certainly not a home defense carbine. So, here is a teaser pic....
Microgunner Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Oooo...nice. Did it come with a ninja suit? :-)
Madhouse Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Lol, this is just a collection piece
Madhouse Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 I know it's not for everyone, and to each his own. I may never even shoot this thing, it might just sit in the safe, who knows. I've got very little money in it, $70 lower, $50 upper and a bunch of parts I had lying around.
Microgunner Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 No, no, no. Don't get shy on us now. I'm enjoying this build immensely. I'm giggling as I type. I want to see every detail along the way. No holding back. B-)
Madhouse Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Lower parts kit and stock built out now, should have the time this weekend to build out the barrel and gas system. You can see here how I had him mask the serial number.
Robocop1051 Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 I like the new dipping stuff. I'm interested to hear how well it holds up on the grip/stock area... even in/out of a case wear.
BigP623 Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 As far as wear goes it all depends on what you use to seal it. After dipping it has to be clear coated or it will wear fairly easily.
