shepp
Buddy and I were talking last night he asked me if I had a "good" led light. I've got a 5.11 tactical light but I wouldn't call it "good". So what you guys got, there's gotta be something out there other then Surefire? And they're kinda pricy I know you pay for quality but you also pay for name. Looking for something along the lines of this http://www.rigidindustries.com/led-lighting/30120 He's got their lights on his duck boat so he's got a bit of a hard on for them. Just curious what you guys had to say
DNP
Bang for buck for a walk around light... Go to Costco. They have a pair of Duracell 500lumen lights for $25. That's $12.50 each and you both get one... They were $20 the first round through. They focus to a point, or flood...have a low high and strobe. Run on C batteries. The link I found is for a 4 pack at $15 each. I saw them in the store today for the price I quoted above. http://m.costco.com/Duracell%C2%AE-Durabeam-Ultra%E2%84%A2-500-Lumen-Flashlight-4-pack.product.100084625.html
gnatshooter
Here in Iowa we have Menards, which is a store that sells lumber, hardware, and all sorts of other stuff -- including flashlights. Some of their flashlights are LED, and my calipers say the flashlight body is exactly 1.0" Now it seems to me, a pair of scope mounts and one of these $2.99 flashlights would fit just fine on a rail on a rifle. Maybe someone here with extra scope mounts could go out and put one or more of these cheapo flashlights to the test on a rifle. Wouldn't it be funny if these el cheapo thingers worked just fine in that application? Sure would be embarrassing.
blue109
think we just had a flashlight thread and a few good links were posted. I got one from botach for $20 shipped and it came with a normal tail and a pressure switch.

392heminut
I've been using the Gun Shack G2 flashlights for the last couple of years now I have a couple I keep around the house and one in each vehicle. My son also used one when he was working at the correctional facility here and now carries one in his MP duties in Okinawa. I believe I've bought 8 or 9 and none of them have ever given me a problem! $25 each and you can use a AA battery or a CR123 Lithium battery. The bulbs are LED. http://www.gunshack.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=315 Edited May 12, 2014 by 392heminut

392heminut
Yup, what Wash said! The lights I've been getting from Gun Shack are Cree LED's. Little bastages are bright for no bigger than they are! Edited May 14, 2014 by 392heminut
