Robocop1051
I have to shoot an XD. I'm just put off by strikers.... they aren't natural.
6132expert
If it makes you feel better I had went to a dealer who I would like to support and they priced it at 1169.00 then I drove about 3 miles to my regular dealer and he was 999.00. He said " just let me know man " I looked at him and said " order it "!
6132expert
And my carry gun is a sub compact xd 40 and to be honest it is a fine shooting sidearm, but lets not compare apple to oranges! We could look at the Christisian Arms Damascus 1911.
Madhouse
Love my XD's too! Had one in .40, sold it, bought new in both 9 and 45.
planeflyer21
I have to shoot an XD. I'm just put off by strikers.... they aren't natural. They work for all those Cali-compliant bolt-action rifles. What's the difference?
Microgunner
I own two XDs and both are good shooters. The XDm9 holds 20 rounds. That's a lot of bang between mag changes.
Tripledeuce
A story I heard from an old time Texas Ranger. He carried a 1911, 7 in the mg, one up the spout. No extra mags. When asked, He said ," If I need more than 8 rounds, I need more than a pistol." I'v carried since 1968. 1911, sometimes with an extra mag, sometimes not. The only time I had to draw, was a guy that broke into my gunshop. He was in a crawlspace under the shop. My only shot could have rickoched into the gas meter! Nither the SO who resopnded nor myself fired. Suspect shot at us once. SO deputit relised I was a civilion, kicked over the trash can I was hiding behind, and yelled, cover the hole in the floor. It turned out to be two of them, they eventually surrended, but had torn a hole trough the floor to gain access to the shop. The access was alarmed, but did not go off when they removed the cover. Alarm went off when they actually entered the building. I'll keep my 1911's, both Colt and Kimber. Respecfully Terry
LTCFB118
I own a Kimber Tactical HD II. It is the best .45 shooter that I have ever owned. I replaced the ambi safety with a Wilson Combat safety. It is he only upgrade on it. Fantastic gun.
Zebra644
I own a Springfield 1911 TRP Operator (FBI) model with the full length dust cover, A Springfield Champion Operator (Commander size) and a Sig Scorpion in a Officers size. I love the Sig for carry and if I ever contemplated another 1911 it would be a Sig. The Springers are nice but the finish isn't as durable and I sweat a lot and riding a Harley in high humidity = rust lol.

Black-T brother! http://black-t.com/ I had Bob Birdsong put that finish on my concealed carry pistol 20 years ago and with VERY minimal care it has never rusted, and my sweat is really bad on firearms. I've always carried in either an IWB or pancake holster too. The self lubricating properties are no schitt too! I put a 4# trigger pull job on that 1911 (like I do for all my non-competition 1911's) before I sent it to him and when I got it back it was at 3#! He told me I didn't need to use any lube on the gun but I put a drop of oil on each slide rail after cleaning but that is all. I don't know why this finish isn't better known, as my grandson used to say, it's the shiznit!
Zebra644
Thanks for that link, I need to send the Champion Operator in and have it redone.
LTCFB118
I own a Springfield 1911 TRP Operator (FBI) model with the full length dust cover, A Springfield Champion Operator (Commander size) and a Sig Scorpion in a Officers size. I have a Springer GI as well. These are both very well made guns and great shooters. I hate the sights on my GI but it shoots great. An aside is that Springfield has great customer service. Magwa
My Kimber could use a refinish for sure.. any idea on the turnaround?
392heminut
Magwa, if you're asking about the turnaround on the Black-T I couldn't say, it's been 20 years or more since they did mine.
