  1. I was practicing for Thanksgiving. Here is a bone-in turkey breast. I soaked it in a brine solution for about a day first. Then used a moist rub of olive oil, paprika, salt, pepper, and a few other spices I don't recall at the moment. I didn't let that sit as long as I would have liked (poor planning), only about an hour before smoking. I smoked it with apple wood for about 3 1/2 hours and alder another 2 hours at about 225 up to 160 internal temp. It then got wrapped in foil and towels for about 30 minutes before we got hungry and couldn't wait any longer. All I will change is some of the spices I put in the rub. I don't mind a little spice, but some in my family are not as adventurous.
  2. I ordered mine March 8 and nothing yet. I went to my dealer today. He got a shipment notice on one ordered 2 weeks after mine. >:( But that means they are finally shipping them again.
  3. Did you get your Obama phone? :cookoo: I didn't get one, but I don't think they give them to people in Texas. <laughs>
  4. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm just tired of waiting. My next day of shooting is Labor Day and I would like to have it by then.
  5. I am up to five months now. :( I have no concerns about my LGS, but I am getting anxious about RRA and the delay. The last time I asked, there was a back order on parts to RRA and that is the supposed hold-up. <dontknow>
  6. I am about 4 months into my wait. My dealer got an email response from his RR supplier that said "Just back ordered on many components for these, no eta right now, sorry.." I have not given up hope yet. The last several he ordered prior to mine took right at 4 months, and mine is next in line. :D
  7. I have been several things in my life. I worked at a grocery store department manager for a while, worked at Coke for too long and IT help desk for a short time while in school. But as my name says, I am have been an optometrist for the last 8 years. I practice in a smallish town in TX and wouldn't change a thing about what I did in the past. It all taught me things that I use every day without thinking about it.
