I've never had an issue with my Rock River LAR8 with any ammo including milsurp 762. Like suggested, lube it and shoot what it likes before going back to the other.

Speaking of detents, I found one on a bookshelf about 2 years after it went flying. I guess I should clean that room more often.

You do have a rifle buffer system in there. The spring probably still needs changing though.

Article said they were bought by Sierra. Don't know exactly what that means for the line, but that is what happened. -
Looking at the man who has the science figured out on AR buffer systems heavybuffers.com, it may be that your spring is too short. Rifle length buffers need a spring that is 13.75 inches with 34 coils.
