  1. Damn you for ruining my buzz. I can't stand reading the comments and can't stop reading once I do. People fucking amaze me. This world is filled with so much stupid, I'm not sure we can hold much more. I think my wife tells 10 different people a day that the reason we have this problem is because we don't live in the wild anymore. Unfortunately the stupid people don't get eaten and live on to breed.
  2. Google grinding down a gas block. Seen it done with one like you have, or buy one for $30.
  3. Fun fact...so our dumb asses having the MBUS backwards, when turned around and adjusted to line up with the aimpoint and the front sight-the MBUS sits right in the middle. Need to go fire for confirmation. Seems odd to me that mounted backwards will change it that much, but hey...I don't know much. The specs for the rail say .835 -0.005, so we're only .007 under the lowest tolerance, but again...I don't know much and that may be a mile as far as metal cares, or it may be no big deal. Would make sense that the aimpoint mount has to be extra tight though.

  5. I smell a new build in he works.
  6. What's a "drive in"...tell me more grandpa. And why were you taking dates to the swap meet?
  7. That's a good point. Not like we'll be dialing in clicks for a 15 mph wind. Lol. I guess it's more a sign that something is wrong. And it is. How come none of you bastards told me we have the MBUS on backwards? Crap. Not the issue...but hell. Heres a photo from the guys running JL Billet. We took it to them to get a look at. (Convienient to rent office space to a manufacturer). Says the rail is a bit thin, which is why the aimpoint mount is cranked all the way down too.
  8. You guys change cars more often than your under britches. Damn!
  9. poop. Add another non runner....I had a '63 Cadillac limo too.
  10. Do they have to run to count? I've had 4 project vehicles that never went anywhere. '46 international panel truck '56 F100 panel '74nova '91 Samurai driving I've had 2 Toyota pickups, a civic, a 2500 diesel, and the Ford Fusion. A couple Yukons for the wife. Leaving tractors and 4-wheelers out that puts me at 5-9 personal vehicles depending on what counts...I gotta catch up with you guys.

Don't waste your time with carfax. It's a voluntary program that nobody is required to report to. I traded in my Mazda back in 13 and it had been run into while parked in front of my house...to the tune of $12.5k fix that should have totaled a car worth about $12k. History report came back "one owner, no accidents" when I traded it in.
  12. That's all we really want. Is to be able to zero and still have some adjustment. Worst case I'll ditch the FSB for a low pro GB and get a flip up front sight on the rail. What's the twist on the dissy?
  13. Thanks guys. I completely forgot about that thread, but I remember it now. I asked BCM for their thoughts and recommendations for tests we can perform to rule stuff out. I will try a few different ammo combinations through it this weekend. After hearing/reading around the net...it's always the fully adjusted to the left side. That's gotta be from the sight post or the bullet twist with a weight the barrel doesn't like. Keep you posted.

They were getting hammered about it yesterday. "What about the 2005 study?"..."the what?, never heard of it, next question..." its a hydro dam. They want all the water they can get in there. What they haven't said is wether or not they were running the generators at full capacity. They have other places to lose water. Sure would have been nice to work on it the last few years of our insanely low levels of water.
  15. Yep. Slid forward every time. Followed the instructions. Tighten a little at a time and test until it is snug enough that you can grab it and not shake it around. (Instructions mention if it becomes loose to repeat steps 1-4 for tightening). I would guess that you shouldn't have to do that more than one time. We had it shake loose 4-5 times before we called it quits. Got an email in to BCM today. We'll see what they say about the FSB. Not going to worry too much about the mount. It may just need one more try.
  16. Very sorry to hear it. Watched my parents go through it with their folks, and not looking forward to the day it's my turn. My dad was talking about my grandfather just the other day. We lost him 20 years ago last week at the young age of 65....and it seems like only yesterday. He's been with us all along and the good memories stay with us always. We'll keep you in our thoughts and pray your sadness lifts swiftly.
  17. Checked into the mount for the aimpoint. It's an aimpoint LRP mount. May just need a lot of break in love. Tighten shoot 5-10 rounds, thighten again...we must have done that 5 times. Might have to buy him a Larue.
  18. Good call. I have a decent laser at work. I can line that up I think. It was only a little stuck...just enough to cost us the couple hours we could be free. Had to meet a guy back at my dad's place at 11 so he could run a box of ammo through his pistol before he has to qual tomorrow.
  19. Ok, the pic is a little off. We didn't get the BFH version.
  20. I don't think I'm following. I'm slow. Will have to check back with you when I'm sober. This is the package we got from BCM. I keep feeling like you're talking about the DD Lite Rail. I'm pretty sure it can move to better align, but won't change the sight picture. I think the final answer will be a canted front sight the more I search the web, but I don't know. They claim they laser bore sight each upper they assemble. I highly doubt it's the Magpul and I'm fairly sure it shouldn't be the upper. The only other part it could be would be the Front sight.
  21. I just want to hear what others have seen. Make sure it's not an issue with the Magpul BUIS before I hit up BCM. My dad says he looked around online and found other people having the same issue. They were all on BCM uppers.
  22. It'd have to be the tail on the upper. That's a fixed standard FSB up front. The HG might be a tweek off perfect, but plays no role in the sight picture. My thoughts were that the FSB might have been drilled a hair out of line and it could be twisted. That could be a cause of the alignment problem, no? Either way, I may mail it back up to them to check out.
  23. Absolutely. It was a good lesson and a reminder all at the same time.
