  1. I ordered a couple 5 round Pmag stubby's from Midwest PX for hunting, we'll see how they do.
  2. <lmao> Let me try this. Tom...... DON'T DO IT! <laughs> Really though. Save your money. I need to start thinking about doing the same thing. Otherwise, we're gonna have to do some hunting in a much more affordable region. <thumbsup>
  3. Well, I didn't wind up paying anything for shipping....but I did pay $4 a piece more for the mags. That link is going into the bookmarks in case I decide to grab a few more. Thank you. ugh...and I paid $100 more for my JD matched upper/lower than the price they have listed. :'(
  4. Draco, where did you get your 10/20's from? I just ordered a few through Midwest PX, but I saw Larue and another place selling them as well. Just curious.
  5. That's gonna be a sweet little rifle. Keep us posted when she shows up.
  6. If it helps with the wife....I'll show you my receipts from the last month ;D I'm considering the KAC BUIS's as well...give us a good review when they come in <thumbsup>
  7. It's gonna be a good week <thumbsup> Showing up in about 5 different deliveries will be my PRI hand guard and rail, a UBR and Miad grip, gas block, bullet button w/wrench, a flash hider, a couple 5 and 10 round LR20 mags, a couple 10 round stubby 5.56 Pmags.....and I think that's it. I'ved ordered so much stuff lately I can't keep track. All I know is....it's going to be a wonderful week finding something new on the doorstep almost every day when I get home!
  8. Or....wait for it... You could......COULD....turn the IRA into a .338 Just sayin <dontknow>
  9. Nope....was looking at the main site which says they're on their way into production. Even signed up for the "email when available" link <laughs> Sweet...I just might order one up. I'm down to a muzzle device and sights for the build....the trigger would just be a big PLUS for it. Researching my options. Thanks guys.
  10. <lmao> So...I talked to him about the IRA lower today. He made it sound like IFF the lower was purchased, it would be swapped with his DPMS lower on his already completed build... <lmao> <lmao> <lmao> <lmao> Riiiiiiigghht! <lmao> But hey, If you DID do it that way...and sold the DPMS, that IRA wouldn't really cost you all that much <thumbsup>
  11. So, why is it that the site says the .308 trigger isn't available yet? Considering one of these.
  12. Just bringing this one back. Pretty sure this will work, but I'll verify as soon as I have mine in hand. Both .750 and .936 http://www.riflegear.com/p-771-jd-machine-upper-height-gas-block-308.aspx
  13. <lmao> <lmao> <lmao> I almost cried....that's the funniest thing I've read in a while. The worst part is...it's likely it would grow a gun around it in about a week.
  14. woohoo! Solved my gas block dilemma. Didn't even know these were available from the manufacturer of my gun. <thumbsup>
  15. Big Brown Truck came today. Got my order in from Fulton! Barrel, LPK, FA, Ejection port bits and pieces, buffer and spring, gas tube and pin are now added to the pile. Supposed to get a day off work due to rain here in a few...so I'll grab some pics then. Still might be sending the barrel out to ADCO...but I have some measurements to make first to help decide. Wish I could get the gas block I want in a .936. I wonder if I can con some friends into machining a one-off for me???? <dontknow>

    Where to start...

Awesome info guys! Thank you. I'll ordering a few books this week and start reading up.

    Where to start...

I will give that a look. Thank you. Gotta see if I can steal my wife's amazon gift card....I think there's still some money on it <thumbsup>
  18. Just like it says, where is a good place for someone with zero reloading experience to start out? I've been reading through some info online, but would like to get some input on good reading material or good people to talk to before I go crazy with this. I know the sooner I get started reloading the quicker I can recover the costs of the equipment...so I'm looking for the right start. I've enjoyed reading the recommendations on powders and presses, but I know if I ran down to the store the salesman would do his job well and sell me everything he can. Can anyone recommend a good book or good online site that will explain the basics?
  19. Here's another place that does this too. Haven't used them, but been considering sending something out soon. http://www.tarjac.com/
  20. Right on!....Now you're ready for build number 5! Bring back range pictures when you finally get her out there. :sniper:
  21. No sign of him yet....wonder if things went well? <munch>

    Contest (easy)

I'm hoping it's the bank....and you're going to share your "earnings" <dontknow> No?
  23. Did 98Z5V post his "year-so-far" photos here? He's built 1 gun a month for the past 4 straight! :o Back to 10/22's. The basic stainless model with the plastic stock wasn't as stainless as we had hoped for. I was planning to ditch all but the receiver on my wife's gun and wanted to start off with a raw metal one. Unfortunately, the new stainless (inexpensive model) comes with the barrel and receiver coated gray. So now when we do get around to the build, we'll have to strip it. I think they have a couple models out there that will come without coating on the receiver, but the price gets a little higher. Sweet little rifles, you just can't go wrong no matter what you do with it. Seems like prices on parts have come down some in the past year or so as well (at least from what I remember looking at last year).
  24. Hey, anything you need to tell yourself to justify another gun....we'll back it. <thumbsup>
  25. CalGuns has a lot of that info. There was a letter from the DA explaining the current stand on them as well as encouraging LE to "double check" that no more than ten rounds can go into the mag before citing someone for having a modified 20 or 30 rd mag. As long as the block can be considered permanent its GTG. I need to search up as many of those letters as I can find as well as some other legal info and make a few packets to stash in the gun case, the truck...just have on file. I might be flying with this rifle this Fall and I'm a little concerned about the trip. Considering shipping the rifle to my destination and picking it up when I get there. I've been thinking about a .458 after this one, but the Mag capacity issue worries me. The guns take unmodified mags and you can fit 7 rounds of 458 in a 20rd 5.56 mag. So, would it be legal for me to have these mags in my possession? I sure as hell wouldn't go anywhere with the two guns together. On one hand it's a 7 rounder....but will they see it that way?
