  1. A new fireplace. Holy crap these things are pricey. Fireplace Xtrordinair 42 Apex with the Timberline Face. Fancy.
  2. It’s gotta be X’s and O’s....like Oh Donna! Oh Jackie! Oh Bruce....wait a minute.
  3. Interesting point is that the buffer was short by almost the same amount as the internal depth of the tube. It’s possible it will run with it, yes. If you want to be absolutely certain and don’t mind spending another few dollars, swap it out. If you want to see how it goes, open up the port to .90 and run it. If it still has issues, I personally would then swap the buffer/tube/spring for proven parts, and if it still had issues I would drill up the port a little until I was happy. Just my thought process, might not be right - just the way I would approach it.

I’m guessing she rides a lot of things, but it’s just a guess.
  5. AR Maglocks. Simple Gen 1’s.
  6. That right there, is likely a good portion of your problem. Drill it, put it back together, shoot it. Confirm one thing at a time.

  8. Mind blown....
  9. Piano is supposed to be a good gateway drug. Learn it first and the others are a little easier.
  10. It IS time. He won his banjo, maybe more of a ukulele as its one of those short bastards, in a raffle at a bluegrass festival he went to with some of his old camping buddies. Likes bluegrass and his retired friends who travel around and camp out at a few each year - talked him into going. He picked up a book or two, watched some YouTube videos and away he went. When I find time, I need to get back into the guitar. Trying to get my oldest into piano lessons and I wouldn’t mind taking a few of those as well. we keep at it, 308AR is going to have a full band. We’re going to have an odd sound with The wood winds, banjos, pianos and gunfire....but maybe it’ll take off.
  11. You ain’t gone yet! My dad picked up the banjo a couple years ago as a hobby. I don’t believe he’s mastered it, but he was learning just fine for a....well, I’d say older gentleman, but I think he’s younger than most of you folks.
  12. Shiit....we are gonna have one entertaining camp when we get you guys together.
  13. My guess is he crossed up threads, but I’ve been wrong before and probably will be again sometime. We’ll have to wait to see what he meant, but it looks like @Armed Eye Doc is on point with his quote from 98’s earlier comment about the recoil system. Rifle buffer and tube, check that spring.
  14. Clean it up and take another pic. I’d be really surprised to see something like that and would immediately return that barrel as there is zero reason to have a sleeve. Doesn’t happen.
  15. No, that is carbon built up around the hole. It seals off the open space. The hole in the gas block is bigger that the hole in the barrel. That will scrub off if you clean it. When you put things back on, it will take several rounds to seal that back up.
  16. Drilling the gas port is easy if it comes to that. There is a thread from the last couple days in the general section where they were walking someone through it. My guess is someone will ask a little more about the buffer and tube dimensions. Length of buffer and depth if the tube, but if it’s easy enough to do it...I would check the gas port size when you get a chance. Numbered drill bits make for easy approximations.
  17. If the gas port is truly that size, it shouldn’t be an issue. Might be worth checking just to see. There’s a few others here that will be able to help you a lot more than I can, I’m just trying to ask a few questions to have more of the info available. It’s all Aero stuff, should be playing well together. Lubed up like crazy, right? These guns do like to be a little wet. It’s going to be something simple - I’m sure of it.
  18. Did you by any chance measure the gas port diameter when you had the gas block off? What lower parts kit did you use? You have 300 rounds through it pretty much all hand cycled (for loading anyways from the sound of it)?
  19. Welcome from San Diego. We’ve got a handful or NC shooters here now. That’s fantastic.
  20. Happy birthday old man Sketch!
  21. Is this new news beyond the thread directly below this one? It’s BS, no doubt.
  22. I never thought someone could have a bigger hard on for a company than @Robocop1051 and CMMG....I was mistaken.
