The gas block is quite a bit larger than the gas port anyways. Also, with a pilot hole already there for you, it seems like it would take some work to change the path. I am not a machinist, take my thoughts with an extra large grain of salt.

What he said^^^^ wooden dowel gives you something to bounce off of when you push through and protects the other side of the barrel. A lot of guys on here have drilled this on their own and been happy with the results. Don’t forget to clean the barrel up well when you’re done.

I sure hope they make that officer ride the desk for a while. How dare he just show up like that to a location he was called to....They should have tried to make contact with the alleged assailant first. He deserved written notice at least two weeks prior to contact so he could mentally prepare for the situation. It’s an incredibly threatening feeling to have an officer show up unannounced while you’re trying to stab people. The trauma caused just by seeing that officer will haunt him long after his self inflicted gunshot wound has healed. Truly a sad story. What has this world come to where the police believe they can just “show up” any time they’re called? This was obviously another case of President Trump’s racist policies. I know the article doesn’t mention race, and wasn’t even in the US, but we know for a fact that Trump is such an incompetent fool and a clown, yet he controls anything bad that happens on this planet.
