  1. This thread is shot. Sorry Red I don’t recall breaking that news to Jake....that seems like a real A-hope thing to do. That couldn’t have been me. damn I miss that place. I gotta get back out there this year. I’m gonna do T-Day again no matter where we’re at with the house.
  2. This guy lead to my first 308AR. Somewhere around 2010, 98 and I were both building Rifles to take with us on an epic hunting trip we had planned with Douggie in Alaska that unfortunately turned out never to be. I think it was Bush Pilot school that got in the way. He unfortunately wouldn’t be available during the time we were planning. It’s actually Douggies fault that 98 found this place and then I wound up over here. The life @SmoothAction lives is amazing. He probably has stories from something normal he did this week that would be 10 times more interesting than anything I’ve ever done in my 40 years. @SmoothAction....I hope you hang around and visit this place often. We’ve missed you man.
  3. I don’t know man....he didn’t even tell me he was here last time he came down. I definitely want to see him at the fall shoot though. I still think it’s NJC....I don’t know how he got a pic of Eski though. Must be friends on bookface. I think we need to see a cover shot of a dune moose for proof.
  4. I don’t think he’d ride a girl’s bike like that...
  5. Not at all. No idea who your stalker is. Don’t open the fridge....
  6. That wasn’t for you to answer....dammit.
  7. Hmmmm. The plot thickens. Me thinks you’re being played with. Rigid boxes, gay-TM quad....stupid smart phone....KTM quad.... Who bought and installed the tassels?
  8. How about lagging throu the back of it into the wall? There would be a little drywall cleanup when you move, but it would be enough to secure it from the basic thief. If somebody comes for your stuff and truly wants it, they’ll get it no matter what you do. It’s like locking your car. That keeps 99% of the chickenshits out, but that guy who wanted your stereo is gonna break a window. 2 lag bolts, or even 1 really will slow a pair of guys down. Run in from the inside it would have to be open to get at it.
  9. Same way you would a safe if you’re putting it somewhere you can do it. Bolt it to the floor. Drill and epoxy some all thread into the floor. Be careful if you plan to do that on a post-tensionEd slab. If you have one of those, never drill or cut without knowing where the cables are. There are companies you can hire to mark that out or if you’re creative and trust yourself you can locate them on your own. Hit one and it’s explosive. Google that if you want to see some vids of it happening.
  10. Just trying to help him open up that wallet. That’s a bummer.
  11. I know a guy that uses a few of those. Great boxes and if you keep them heavy enough it would take a forklift to run off with it.
  12. Don’t they make some sort of extended charging handle you could purchase? Maybe something that allows you to rack against a leg or other object? A little flesh wound can’t take you out of the fight, right?
  13. Type the “@“ symbol without the quotation marks and start typing their screen name. Like this @Radioactive
  14. Aww come on 98....that’s a lot of reading.
  15. Those are some serious nicotine patches. I feel like I need a few of those to get through the days at work right now.
  16. Why am I getting yelled at? @Rsquared is the one that threw you under the short bus....I tried to buy you a couple day’s. Besides - You needed a good reason.
  17. My last one was lucky. I’ve launched those little bastards all over. I even bought a pack of them so I’m not screwed next time I lose one. Last one went in with no tools. Used the takedown pin to compress the detent into the hole and she popped right through.
  18. There you go. Yes, they can be run accurately.
  19. Lol....it was in the fine print when you signed up. You’re getting off cheap....
  20. I’m jealous of your range.

    98's 6mm ARC

When it’s hot here in San Diego and I want to bitch about it....I just think of you all and what you must be dealing with. It doesn’t make me feel better, but it reminds me not to bitch.
  22. Thank god for that nickel. I think “cuz” cost me a quarter somewhere for the shortcut.
  23. A couple months after he left CMMG. ....or was let go for who knows why. He’ll never work customer service again.
  24. Too late? He gets 24 or 48 hours doesn’t he? He’s still gonna have to buy it cuz the answer is no, but he at least gets to wait for the buzzer to “have to”.
  25. In the old days (so I’ve read, I wasn’t really there- plenty of folks on here were though) the long version AR with a fixed stock was a rifle and the shorter one with a collapsible stock was a carbine. Hence the birth of the terminology. Things have changed, but even then you could have run a carbine stock and buffer setup on a rifle platform. We’ve learned to mix and match over the years and when you’re talking carbine or rifle there’s two halves you’re talking about. The gas system, and the recoil seystem/stock. There’s also a bunch of other stuff that’s been thrown in the mix over time. Mid length gas, different stock and buffer setups. As long as you understand them and plan accordingly, you can make a lot of combinations work just fine together. I have noticed they don’t make a mid-length buffer tube....interesting, no? Not really, two separate halves with two different functions - similar names due to history.
